With her clean French hair, Peachy Deegan proceeded along the theme of Francais to visit her new friend Bernard at Paname Restaurant, which is in a super convenient spot on 1068 Second Ave right near 57th. It's pretty new as it's been open about five months....and for those of you who are not quite the Francophile that Peachy is you should know that Paname means Paris-a nickname for it.  You know, like the Big Apple is a nickname.  We began with the delicious grilled portabello mushroom with mozzarella-just fantastic.  Fresh and perfect for any time of the year.  Paname also excels at food arrangement-they are quite artistic.
Pour (for!) les Salades, we opted for the Asparagus Vinaigrette.  Crunchy and nutritious, this was a dish we'd order again.  By the way, if you are eating at the bar you can see on the TV at Paname and it has 19 channels in French.  We have to go back and do that.
As an entree, Peachy chose the Filet of Sole Almandine.  This was the best arrangement of all.  They are quite conscientious of color and graphic shapes of food, and naturally you are more excited to eat it when it is beautiful.  The French excel in beauty, bien sur.
Paname is Terrific Takeout!
