If You Thought Irish Eyes Were Smiling, You Should See Their Feet. Introducing AgilisBarcelona Espadrilles, an Irish shoe brand, Made in Spain, and Coming to America! Ulla Red Savanah Recommended by Whom You Know.

Look is right.
We've published hundreds of posts on shoes over four columns from brands made all over the world based all over the world.  We had never found a brand in Ireland, but that's all in the past now.  Introducing AgilisBarcelona, an Irish brand made in Spain.  AgilisBarcelona presents espadrilles with comfort like never before. Providing the latest SOLE technology in wellness footwear merged with century’s old tradition of hand made footwear by Spain’s finest artisans now seen all over Manhattan on the feet of Peachy Deegan.  And, Whom You Know has been recommending quality espadrilles made in Spain ever since we met our friend Mover and Shaker Tony Marinelli....(Tony can help you with all your back office work today that you don't want to do if you want to spend your time designing your brand...).

If you thought Irish eyes were smiling, you should see their feet.
They may be made in Spain - the brand tells us Spanish heart - but as far as we can see the brains behind the brand are in the mother country which is of course Ireland if you've been reading us for the last 16,000 posts or so!  Modern Sole we'd also concur with; the thick sole carried us through all the rows of Moda Manhattan today.  She might have been the most agile walker perusing the brands...and now you know why!

The joyous meeting is photographically documented.
As you can see, both espadrilles and toe polish is in Chicago Blackhawk red.
As you know, Chicago is winning their game right now and it's inbetween periods.
Clearly we are seeing happy feet! The Ulla has a quality leather upper of embossed calf leather in a stylish arrangement of lines expertly anchored to the superior modern sole.  These come in full sizes, not half sizes and we found them to be sized generously, though it's not the heat of summer yet where your feet will expand.  This style also comes in black which we think would be equally smashing.  These are sandals you can successfully walk in and look smart in concurrently.  Jeans work well or a dress and their versatility we commend.   In case you doubt Peachy's Irishness, this is what she looks like before self-tanner or a tan...it was a long winter in New York.
AgilisBarcelona was born in Spain in the year 2012 by a group of professionals with over 50 years experience in the world of wellness and healthy footwear. The espadrilles of AgilisBarcelona are handmade in Spain, combining the latest technological advances in biomechanics with artisan tradition in footwear production, resulting in the most comfortable, healthy and stylish espadrilles you've ever worn. Agilis=Agile in Latin

Spanish Heart.
The traditional origin of espadrilles is in Spain, and particularly Catalonia and Barcelona, its vibrant capital. This is the story that has inspired the collection, based on the heritage of style and design that characterize the city. Each espadrille has been named after a Spanish river, the life blood of this beautiful country.

The heart of AgilisBarcelona espadrilles brig clear benefits to the user. The combination of a anatomical sole designed to fit the natural shape of the foot along with the latest advances in biomechanics which constitutes Agilis footwear philosophy "TechArt" (technology + craft) AgilisBarcelona is the first brand of espadrilles that fuses the latest sole technology of the 21st century with the centuries old craft of the finest artisans both combined with the highest quality materials.

Each of AgilisBarcelona espadrilles provides physical benefits to the user thanks to the functionality of the shoe combined with the latest fashion trends. The AgilisBarcelona espadrilles inner soles have anatomically designed contours following the natural shape of the foot with a jute sole handmade and sewn with the same technique and craft that has been used for over 500 years. The best artisan producers of espadrilles in Spain combine their skills with the latest technology in design and construction of soles, making AgilisBarcelona a unique concept in the wellness footwear industry.  The summer 2014 collection consists of sandals, slippers and wedges.

 The Tecnology – TechArt
AgilisBarcelona presents a new concept in the production of handmade espadrilles with the best Spanish artisans. Using the latest advances in applied technology building soles, providing an anatomical mold adapted to the shape of the foot and bioceramic technology built into the in-sole. The bioceramic technology provides multiple health benefits helping to improve blood circulation and activating the lymphatic system and increasing metabolism. The ‘last’ has been designed by an internal team of podiatrists, engineers and lovers of sole design. Thus AgilisBarcelona offers the most comfortable, fashion and healthy espadrilles you've tried!

This brand is designed by Juana-Maria Salvas, one of the designers and developers of Spain's most renowned footwear. After graduating from Parsons School of Design in New York in 1996 she returned to Mallorca, her hometown, to join the family business of high quality shoe production for women. She developed her skills for seven years in the design department of the Spanish brand Farrutx. In 2003, she joined the Inditex group, responsible for design footwear department Zara Woman, where she had the opportunity to acquire knowledge of the business of fast-changing fashion. In 2007 she began her career as a freelancer for different companies. Currently, Juana Maria heads up designing and developing products for AgilisBarcelona .

The Artisans
The production company is located in Murcia, Spain, an area that is synonymous with the highest quality production of espadrilles and has the most talented craftsmen in the country. In AgilisBarcelona they have generations of experience in the production of footwear and the legacy of a local community where over 400 artisans have been dedicated to sewing espadrilles for hundreds of years. Manual work of the craftsman has been used for generations without losing the authenticity of the ancient tradition of making espadrilles. This is a process that can not be industrialized so each espadrille is unique and full of character. This traditional process is a modus operandi for artisans; often you see three generations of the same family sitting together stitching espadrilles. The espadrilles of AgilisBarcelona are made in Spain with love for your enjoyment and comfort.
