Whom You Know Celebrates our 17,000th Post with The Westin Georgetown Washington, D.C., a Crowning Jewel of Starwood Hotels!!! The Westin Georgetown Earns Our Highest Recommendation. We are Proud to Be a Starwood Preferred Guest!

Pictures speak louder than words...
The third time's a charm!
Day and night.
And did we mention there's a pool?
We had such a great time there, we even started Peachy Pools.
There's only one hotel in the history of Whom You Know that's been featured three times by review, and that is the Westin Georgetown.  We've spent more time there than at any hotel on a professional basis.  Actions speak louder than words.
We would not have gone back twice if The Westin Georgetown was not completely spotless, superior in hospitality, run by the best and smartest in the field, had a super comfortable bed for our resident Princess and the Pea, fantastic water pressure in both the shower and bath, curtains that made us buy better ones for Chez Peachy because she couldn't adjust to Manhattan circumstances that were not as wonderfully cave-like, we could go on and on.
Reviewing a hotel outside of Manhattan is a big commitment and a true risk if we do not have a Plan B in the geographic location.  We have not written on every hotel we have tried and we can assure you that there could be more horrific hotels than Haute Hotels...if we try one in Manhattan, we not only have a Plan B, but could probably plan through many letters.
The Westin Georgetown is Plan A in Washington, D.C., so all we've got to say is stop listening to us and start making your reservation.
The Westin Georgetown was first featured in 2013:
It was also featured in Spring 2014, prime time Cherry Blossom season:
We repeat and reiterate everything you read there.
Consistency matters and so does excellence.
If you think Cherry Blossom season is the best time of year to go, clearly you have not been in the summer...

The view of the lovely courtyard from the pool above:
You will definitely not leave the pool area, particularly if it is quiet and serene when you go.  We only left for scheduled eating and scheduled boat cruises.  Otherwise, we were firmly committed to quality time swimming and book reading right here.  When Peachy was a student in Cork, Ireland she asked where the couches were in the library (they laughed nicely, there are not couches in the library there unlike Miss Porter's and Boston College which have quite nice couches for studying).  We do not expect there to be couches at pools, but are super excited to see them there and when we fall asleep in them that is true approval.
Totally spotless, this pool is ideal.
Our Preferred Guest Accommodation was impeccably clean and wonderfully comfortable!
If you get a sunburn you could come inside and sit.  This chair is very comfortable when it is cold out and you can't go to the pool.  It did not get much attention from us this trip.
This bed is so big, you can roll over many times and not fall out!  Super fun! The pillows are phenomenal.  Picky Peachy usually travels with her special travel pillow which she also brings to the hotel bed because she likes her own pillow (and her own bed too, hence the small hotel column so far).  Last trip she was so relaxed and in a daze (which she almost never is in New York), she was back in New York for a couple of days before she realized she left her own beloved pillow in her Westin Georgetown bed.  They found it and sent it back to her.  Like we said actions speak louder than words and this is real hospitality.  This trip, she left all her own pillows at home and happily used the Westin's.
She did not miss her own pillows.  Like the pool, you will only want to leave the bed to eat or boat.
The tv is great and you have dozens of channels to choose from.
There is a desk to work at!
It is so important to have coffee in your room so you can achieve some state of pleasant and alertness before interacting with the world!  We also like that they give you water.
We appreciate borrowing a refrigerator because we cannot eat all of our dinner all of the time.
The closet space is great and there's another spot to sit near the bathroom that is a vanity.
Yes, we bring many clothes.  They happily have many hangers.
 The bathroom lighting is tops.
They even have a big makeup mirror.

The water pressure in the bath is really great. A robe you can use while there is clean, pressed and ready for you after your bath and/or shower.
Not only is the water coming out from above in the shower, but also with a twist of the lever you can use the shower arm for a more direct stream.
The decor is understated and designed in a way that will make everyone happy with classy neutrals.
