and it was first featured in 2014:
Pizza 33 has been open since 2000 and the founder and owner is Emilio Rino Lacerra.  We missed him this time and last time but have every confidence he will be there in person next time with a smile.  He was a total peach in 2014.
You will never forget the location: 33rd and 3rd!
The caesar salad is fresh and convincing.  The romaine is perfectly chopped into bite-sized pieces and the croutons crunch with satisfaction.  They thoughtfully put the cheese and dressing into containers giving the guest the choice as to how much to use.  Of course we used all of the cheese and went easy on the dressing.  This is great dressing.  How many times have you seen us publish that we LIKE someone's dressing?  Not too many...
Our love affair with chicken parm continues and this visit, it was the best we have ever had it and the best in a grinder we've had in 2016.  Everyone in Connecticut uses the noun "grinder" and we are trying to colonize the world into proper word choice.  The bread is sensational the chicken is perfectly grilled and the cheese and sauce combination, proportion and quality is sublime.  Every bite of this fresh, delicious wonder impressed us immensely and to be honest, this sandwich did not make it outside the door because it magically disappeared.  Luigi has new tricks up his sleeve in delivering such a standout grinder....and it even has a basil leaf accent.
Here it is smiling:
Of course the piece de resistance here is the pizza, and we chose vegetables and pepperoni to grace the pizza.  Every component is superb from the crust that is like superman holding up all the nutritious vegetables to the perfect amount of sauce to the wonderful cheese.
Notice our vegetable choice which is mostly year-round happens to be Christmas colors.
Christmas can continue in your stomach in color this way....
Gourmet Brick Oven Pizza 33 is Terrific Takeout and we look forward to seeing what they do next.
And LOOK AT THAT AWESOME PRESS SECTION!  Looks like they need to update it now with the newest glowing review they earned.
