Today the Olio Verde Family is guided by Valeria Becchina. They create and distribute ethically and professionally all over the world. 
Their most motivating force is the perpetuation and improvement of the native special olive oil millenary tradition. 
All the Olio Verde recipes and methods have been created combining tradition and innovation in a unique manner with an ecofriendly production process; for that and more reasons the European Parliament awarded Olio Verde with the Gold Medal in order to recognize this great work for the territory and local know-how. Their philosophy is based on transparency and open, shared communication, in an effort to improve the service with every passing year. 1985 marked the international launch of their first extra virgin olive oil bottle and they have since continued to strive for outstanding quality, original products and have contributed actively to spreading awareness about the value of healthy, tasty and authentic foods. 


All the Olio Verde products are manufactured as well as designed at the Antica Tenuta dei Principi Pignatelli – The Home of Olio Verde. The Antica Tenuta (Ancient Estate). 


The Olio Verde Family tends to its olives and the exceptional product they yield with meticulous care: the harvest is performed in the most delicate of manners, by handpicking the fruit, through October even end of September based on the varying seasonal climate and ripening conditions. Within a few hours from coming off the trees, the olives are hand-sorted attentively, meticulously freed from any leaves or debris, and washed in a constant stream of clean water while conveyed to the milling plant. Furthermore, they use osmosed water during all stages of production. The extracted oil is then moved to be stored in stainless steel containers in a cool space at Palazzo Pignatelli, a Medieval castle, before being packaged at the time of each order. 


Owing to the virtues of its source and its low acidity of around 0.1%, Olio Verde is safe and authentic, a result achieved thanks to exacting production criteria. 

To ensure maximum transparency and versatility, through precise and oriented production methods, the company discloses the harvest week of each extra virgin olive oil obtaining varying flavors, tones and colors without being altered artificially. Pleasure is natural! 

Through the years, Olio Verde has been recognized with the attribution of many awards such as The Natives Oel Award - Bad Mergentheim, the Golden Olive Prize, The international Olive Oil Award in Zurich and two prestigious NASFT Golden Trophy Sofi Award at the Fancy Food Show in New York, being the first olive oil ever to be granted this honor! In the words of their US importer, Olio Verde is the first company to have been awarded two food Oscars. Olio Verde is a family responsibility that is set to evolve. Valeria’s teenage son Daniel and her little princess Ambra are already learning the art of olive-oil making enjoying the Estate’s peaceful atmosphere and thousands of visitors all year long. 

Valeria takes care of this incredible heritage. 

She was born in Basel, Switzerland. She studied at French schools in France and Switzerland. During her studies, she became passionate in business management matters so she refocused her attentions in this direction.  
Meanwhile, languages are important so she started a lot of business projects around the world. At home, she confess to speak in Italian with her father and German with her mum, so the family have chosen French as common home language. 

Today with her children, she used to speak French with her son, Italian with her little girl and they choose Spanish as well as English as common home language. She currently speaks 7 languages and can’t wait to learn some more. 
A the end of 2010 she moved to Sicily to guide Olio Verde S.r.l. 
She tells about her principles which are essentially three:

Being determined to reach all targets she has previously imposed on herself.
