As the temperatures rise in Manhattan, knowing where to find the best Gazpacho is key!
El Pote has the best we have ever had in the city with fresh, ripe fragrance, amazing crunch and sensational flavor.  Tomato, cucumbers, peppers and onions team up to cool you down and ignite your appetite!  We would even eat it for breakfast.
El Pote is a classic bastion of Spanish excellence located at 718 Second Avenue devoted to quality cuisine and superlative guest experiences.
They have been in business for 40 years and the original owners are at the helm winningly.
How many restaurants can say that in Manhattan?
There is an extreme difference between a new place that relies on trends without the culinary talent to back it up that repeatedly comes and goes and an unassuming classic standout such as this, which you should always opt for!
El Pote was most recently featured this past winter:
You know we only go back two seasons in a row if we really love you!
The quantity of features earned by a brand speaks to the quality of the brand.
If you are mentioned once, that says something.
El Pote was also featured in 2014:

El Pote was first featured in 2012:
We have had an awful lot of green salads at this stage...and it is exciting to see a venue dress them up a bit.  The Anchovy salad in vinegar is a magnificent wonder and if you think you are not wild for anchovies (there was a time in life when Peachy clearly was not!) you just have not had the right anchovies yet.  These swim in from the Basque country to your plate and the starburst of anchovies radiates refreshment to your senses on a bed of lettuce, tomato and onion.  It is ideal on a hot day.
An appetizer we selected were the fantastic artichokes in butter sauce.  Six hearts arrive warm and your tastebuds will luxuriate in the goodness of this attractive vegetable enhanced by butter.  Less is more, and again meet more success on a plate.
Some of the best Mussels we have had are from El Pote, and the generous size is equaled by the succulence of each of them.  This could be dinner in itself!  The sensations from the sea revel in wine sauce to entertain your senses and you will just adore that sauce.  Fish is delivered six days a week at El Pote and they are open every day but Sunday.

For our carnivorous entree, we decided upon the Pork chops in wine with red pimentos.  The size was truly gigantic and the combination of pork with the peppers and mushrooms yields tremendously tangy flavor that is going to hit the spot just right.  Peachy is by no means a nutritionist but we believe that pork is a really healthy option and at El Pote with their many vegetable accents is a place where we feel great after eating an ambitious dinner.  Some places you don't feel nearly as healthy as here which speaks to the quality of all the ingredients El Pote uses.  The entrees at El Pote are what many entrees should aspire to be at their competitors.  (Miss Piggy, our apologies on the pork choice.)
Getting your teeth and lips black has never been so much fun, or more delicious!
One of our most favorite dishes in all of Manhattan any time of year has become Paella Negra!  That credit card company that has a black card should make this their official dish.  Squid has never been more amazingly flavorful: that is what colors the dish: the squid ink.  Clams, mussels and shrimp also come to the seafood extravaganza that you absolutely have to make your next dinner.  It is one of the most wonderful dishes we have had in 2017.  Hesitate to share because it really is that amazing.

We love El Pote and if you love authentic Spanish food, you will too.

El Pote continues to be Highly Recommended!
