As you know, last week we published our uber-popular list of Best Restaurants in Manhattan, and you'll see that not many places new or new to us are as great as the greatest we've seen over the past nine years.  District Tap House is one of our newest finds and we continue to be impressed.  It's not difficult to impress us once; it is difficult to impress us more and more over time.  Hold onto your hats for the latest and greatest from Culinary King, Mover and Shaker Sal from Patsy's, one of the first featured (clue: it obviously includes his amazing manicotti).
District Tap House was first featured in early 2017 after our first visit, for the first time:
It has earned a spot in Peachy's Picks, and was the second restaurant to achieve this in 2017.
Our visit this time commenced with the superlative Duck Breast.  It's a new item at this venue, and we suggest you order it medium rare as we did.  We reveled in its super juicy, tender flavorful qualities enhanced further by arugula, frisee, mango orange chutney, chipotle glaze and mustard seed.
A winning salad is the Spinach and Baby Kale Salad, one of the most robust salads we've seen this winter.  Look at that color.  Pictures don't lie, and ours are never edited.  Your food either is this fresh and delicious or we say nothing at all.  Kashkaval, hazelnut, avocado, red onion and absolutely delightful fried butternut squash create an elevated nutritious experience that will wow your tastebuds on a dreary weather day.
Meet the shrimp and chorizo skewer!  It is another way to look at surf and turf and we just loved the simple nature of this knockout staple.  Less is more and with quality ingredients, District Tap House again proves its high accolades.
Oh how we love grilled spare ribs!  Carnivores rejoice.
On a cold wet snowy day, and you know that's coming, the succulent combination of honey, tamarind, and ginger of this lovely rib endeavor (pig)  is joined by magnificent parmesean gold mash potatoes.
You may not ignore the Grilled Tuna that arrives in four delicious morsels of goodness!  Wasabi Caviar, Yuzu Soy and Basil Mayonnaise are striking companions to create flavor explosions that you don't see often that meld so well.  We abhor the trendy and those that try to hard and overdo anything; this is entirely interesting and also delicious.
It's not available for autographs because you know who devoured it.
Go order your own!
As you read all of our culinary adventures, you must wonder if there is any food that Peachy does not like.  (There are many!)  High on the list is lamb.  Well, for someone that does not like and does not eat lamb, she certainly did adore the Lamb Meatballs that continue to prove their worth.  They are all lamb, and a menu staple.  Smoked piqullo pepper sauce and soft cooked egg york assist in the hat trick to your stomach.
Ta da!
Another new amazing menu item.
Meet the Grilled Hangar Steak Skewer.
From the left and from the right, they are equally attractive.
They can almost kick like the Rockettes.
Fragrant, colorful and boasting brilliant flavor, the Grilled Hangar Steak Skewer also brings eggplant, cherry tomato, parsley coulis and feta yogurt sauce to the party.
Finally, we come to the beautiful conclusion: Cedar Smoked Center Cut Pork Chop which spells quality in every bite, especially when paired with the Housemade Chipotle Barbecue Glaze.  Authentic cedar flavor rings true on your tastebuds with succulent pork; this should be your dinner tonight!
District Tap House continues to be Highly Recommended by Whom You Know.
