BIG APPLE BUSINESS: United Creators

Whom You Know strongly believes in being on the cutting edge of everything, including technology and artwork! To this end, Peachy Deegan is so pleased that she met United Creators.

Recently in Manhattan, United Creators rocked New Yorker Madison Avenue, and The Times Square Building with avant-garde Art Show exhibitions. In this tough economic climate, there has never been a better time for creative solutions and out-of-the box thinking.

Launching at the New York Bang & Olufsen showroom on Madison Avenue (opposite the Whitney Museum), a new exhibition by emerging artists is being shown concurrently with partners at Bang & Olufsen in Frankfurt and Istanbul. Peachy Deegan attended with her friend Ataf Nabli. The theme is timely, exploring the moment of stillness that occurs in times of great turmoil, when the past is distinct from the future and a new course is set upon.

For everyone in the art world this a stormy time and there is little doubt in the minds of industry professionals and artists alike that an exciting new digital platform for Visual Art and an optimistic moment of calm, is something to be embraced. Capitalizing on their creative collateral, United Creators collaboration of artists, collectors and technology geeks have devised a unique way to offer galleries, museums and institutions more exposure to their collections. Building new audiences and revenue streams for emerging artists and institutions alike, high definition LCD, plasma and projection screens are turning into the newest exhibition platforms in both public and private spaces.

With the massive proliferation of flat screens in homes and businesses everywhere, its only been a question of time before this latent exhibition space was going to be harnessed. The Ipod has become the pocket Wurlitzer jukebox, and visual culture has been desperately seeking its counterpart that solves the postage stamp sized .jpg proclivity for viewing Art. Beyond the solitary experience of scouring You-Tube and artists websites for visual art, United Creators have developed a way to digitally integrate art more actively into people's lives without the innate gallery formality. In many ways 'Art' has taken a backseat to the array of visual media and eyesore impulses present in our culture, becoming a rarefied commodity available only to the informed insider. United Creators aim to balance that inequity, and allow art lovers in general to participate in the conversation, providing a tool and a format that does justice to both the wealth and experience of art and imagery that defines our ever-changing culture.

Having developed the Gee- Box™, United Creators’ portable hardware device features easy-to-use plug and play technology, harnessing high definition imagery in ways that CDs and DVD's are unable, seamlessly turning televisions screens into fully curatorial exhibition spaces. Utilizing a subscription based application, exhibitions of still and time based media are digitally curated, requiring only an internet connection for the remote uploading and archiving of art work.

Beginning with a soft launch in Europe last November, a group exhibition was simultaneously broadcast in Frankfurt, Munich and Istanbul. New international Bang&Olufsen venues, hospitality partners, developers, artists and collectors are joining the network everyday, and the platform is rapidly gaining traction.

Exclusive hotels groups are showing significant interest where the cache of fine art brings the added value to consumer experience in upscale hospitality settings. Working with property developers such as AFI, and YDG (The B’nai B’rith Real Estate Young Development Group) United Creators are taking over massive screens at the old New York Times building in Times Square, to curate Art exhibitions at specific fundraising and corporate events. Meanwhile, international museums and galleries see United Creators Gee-Box™ as a dependable avenue for marketing, exhibition and sales on a never-before-seen global scale.
