NIGHTLIGHT: The Space Sale Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the First Manned Lunar Landing at Bonhams

Last night Peachy Deegan was out on the town, sporting her fabulous Modo for Jennifer Creel Sabrina sunglasses, heading to the Advantageous Auction of the week. Bonhams was the place to be last night, and Whom You Know attended and were happy just taking up some space! Quite different from our other nights out, this was a honor to cover as living history spoke-Fred Haise from the real voyage of Apollo 13 was an excellent speaker.

Whom You Know first covered this:

Mr. Haise was delightful to speak with and when we spoke to him and mentioned that we are journalists, he recalled his college days when in journalism class he used type (the blocks of letters, symbols, etc) to set up printing of what was wrote. How far technology has come- and there was no lack of impressive technology and engineering in last night's auction preview. During his speech to the crowd, he narrated a 13-minute documentary and commented on Apollo 13, the movie, which was laced with profanity that did not happen in real life, and interpersonal conflict that didn't exist in reality was added to the movie for movie effects.

Bonhams is a class act and the event was fabulous. Catering was nicely done by the Butterfield Market and we particularly liked the roast beef and tuna. Amy Baker of Bonhams was cordial as always.

Notable guests, in addition to Fred Haise, included:
Henry Snyder, Bernstein
Todd Richman, Bernstein
Kristy Overman, Craig F. Starr Associates
Jeffrey Wylde, MorganStanley SmithBarney
Peter Casale, MorganStanley SmithBarney
