OLYMPIC HOPEFULS JOIN NIKE TO UNVEIL THE LATEST WOMEN’S TRAINING PRODUCT INNOVATIONS

Whom You Know just loves Nike, and we love innovations!  We are pleased to bring you their latest news:

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (October 7, 2009) – Nike, with top U.S. Winter Olympic hopefuls, today unveiled its latest women’s training products and innovations in Vancouver B.C. Snowboarder Ellery Hollingsworth, curler Nicole Joraanstad, alpine ski racer Julia Mancuso, figure skater Keauna McLaughlin with partner Rockne Brubaker, short-track speed skater Katherine Reutter, hockey player Angela Ruggiero, long-track speed skater Jennifer Rodriguez and skeleton athlete Katie Uhlaender, were on hand to unveil the new apparel and footwear and to discuss how they are training for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Games.

"In February, these amazing athletes will be recognized for their individual sports, but it’s the incredible training they’re doing now that will get them to the medal stand," said Nancy Monsarrat, Nike Brand Director for Global Women's Training. "Training prepares them to win, and Nike is committed to developing products that will help them train harder and reach new heights in their sports.”

In addition to discussing their training, these elite athletes helped to debut Nike’s new training collection for Spring 2010, the Fly Sister footwear collection and redesigned Nike Women’s Pro. The Fly Sisters training footwear represents the lightest and most flexible training footwear ever made, while Nike Women’s Pro has been redesigned specifically to meet the unique needs of female athletes.

Fly Sisters Footwear
The Fly Sister Collection for Spring 2010 represents Nike’s lightest and more flexible training footwear ever made.  Helping the female athlete train to be stronger and faster, the collection features Nike DiamondFLX and Flywire technologies.

Nike DiamondFLX is a training specific innovation that addresses the multi-directional movements found in training exercises.  Unlike running shoes, which are made to move exclusively in a forward motion, Nike DiamondFLX outsoles are siped in a diamond-shape pattern to allow for the multi-directional movements that training requires.

The Fly Sister Collection also incorporates a new configuration of Flywire, a revolutionary lightweight support system that uses thin and incredibly strong fibers to provide support where the foot needs it most. Introduced at the Beijing Olympics, Flywire has allowed Nike designers to create some of the lightest footwear to date while actually improving the stability of the shoe.

Nike Pro for Women
Since 2003 the Nike Pro line of base layer apparel has served as the athlete’s first line of defense on game day, providing temperature regulation, comfort and protection in the heat of battle. Since its initial launch, Nike has relentlessly innovated and applied new technologies and fits that help athletes achieve their highest level of performance.

For Spring 2010, Nike continues its long history of innovation with a new line of Nike Pro base layer apparel specifically designed for women. Incorporating insights from female athletes at all levels, elite athletes to teen girls, Nike has updated the fit, fabric, function and color of the line to address the specific needs of the female athlete.  To eliminate distractions, seams have been moved or removed; strategically placed gussets prevent chafing; and the fit of each item has been tailored to a woman’s body, making it fit so comfortably that she never has to adjust a thing. The Fly Sisters and Nike Pro line will be available in the U.S. beginning January 1, 2010.

Peachy Deegan cannot WAIT to try them out!!!  We are sure you are just as excited.
