READ THIS: THE LITTLE BLACK BOOK OF MARTINIS The Essential Guide to the King of Cocktails By Nannette Stone

It is Monday in Manhattan, and although not quite yet happy hour time, we are thinking ahead for you! The Champagne Wishes panel of Whom You Know recently reviewed THE LITTLE BLACK BOOK OF MARTINIS: The Essential Guide to the King of Cocktails by Nannette Stone published by one of our favorites, the Peter Pauper Press!  There are some great ideas in here and of course Peachy Deegan makes Martinis with Star Vodka

Here is what the Whom You Know panel had to say:

Little Black Book of Martinis
The Little Black Book of Martinis from Peter Pauper Press is more than a How-To publication.  This little book is packed with information about the martini – its beginnings, the traditional recipe, and many pages of entertaining text about the martini’s place in history.  In fact, this little book has over 70 pages of introductory information before even getting to the bulk of the recipes!  There are quotes and experiential references from celebrities and historical figures, “Big Screen Martinis”, and the favorite recipes of some very famous figures.  The introduction also includes guidelines and basic necessities for the martini maker and tips about which alcohols you can cheap out on and exactly where you can’t skimp on quality.  And after about 60 or so pages of recipes, the author has included the most important information of all – what to do “The Morning After.”  You just have to read how they cure a hangover in India!  This Little Black Book of Martinis is just plain entertaining – an excellent hostess gift or a conversation piece for your own party.  And the recipes are good, too!

This book is black, small and compact, and filled with delicious Martini recipes!  Never being a big Martini drinker, I found this book so very intriguing.  The book details the history of drinking and past critical times of Martini's.  It really helped me to understand the importance of mixing an excellent drink.  It clearly is an art.  The recipes are easy to follow and very tasty.  Not only is this book useful to mixing drink it really is highly informative and inspiring.  I am definitely considering this as my next hostess gift.  The book is spiral bound, it lays flat so you are easily able to follow the recipes with both your hands at the ready to mix your perfect drink  Since I thoroughly enjoy entertaining at home, this little black book will always remain handy.

Shaken not Stirred! Everyone knows that mastering a great martini is a must. However, that is easier said than done. Thanks to the Peter Pauper Press now you can now master more than just one. With recipes for martini’s from A to Z and all the basics of how to, the book really is useful. But more importantly it is fun! My favorite were the vodka infusions. Also, the garnish section is great as it is true that presentation make for at least half of a deliciousness. The Little Black Book of Martinis: The Essential Guide to the King of Cocktails book looks entertaining and helps you do the entertaining. What a must!
