The Watergeeks Laboratories: New BPA-Free Stainless Steel Filtered Bottle to Tackle Today's Top Drinking Water Concerns, Recommended by Whom You Know

Watergeeks(TM) announced it will begin shipping its new BPA-Free Filtered Stainless Steel bottles that were created to tackle the major drinking water health and environmental concerns of today's consumer. The food grade stainless steel bottles are BPA-Free and effectively filter potential contaminants from drinking water. Consumers simply re-fill the bottles at any tap and enjoy healthier filtered water on-the-go at a fraction of the cost and without the environmental waste associated with traditional single-serve bottled water.  Whom You Know's Earthy Peachy Panel put this to the test, and here is what our environmentally friendly panel had to say:

I must admit I have been a bottled water snob for many years, not caring or even thinking the carbon foot print I was leaving behind.  I have tried using reusable water bottles and refilling it with water cooler water.  But I the water bottles I have used in the past were hard to keep clean and the spring water that went in so clean and refreshing, always seemed to come out with a funny aftertaste.  And I was always relying on someone else’s water cooler when I was out of the house.  So, I was skeptical about trying another reusable water bottle.  I mean who needs the added inconvenience if the water doesn’t even taste good and I might find myself with an empty water bottle and no spring water with which to fill it? And thus, I became intrigued by the WaterGeeks water bottle with the built-in water filter.  Using it the first time, I followed the simple directions, priming the filter by soaking it in cold tap water for 15 minutes and filling up my stainless steel water bottle with plain ole tap water.  I expected it to have a metallic taste, but it did not. It tasted as good if not better than the bottle water I usually drink.  I was in disbelief, tap water tasting as good as bottled water.  And while I haven’t given much thought to my own carbon footprint over the years, this company truly is “green” – from the manufacturing of the bottles to the reduction in plastic bottles in land fills.  WaterGeeks also save you plenty of money; the inexpensive filters are good for up to 80 gallons which is about 5.5 months worth of water.  Am I rambling?  I could go on and on!  I am truly a WaterGeek now.

Watergeeks filtered stainless steel water bottle is a great, new innovative product.  It comes with a tap filter that you soak in cold water for 15 minutes before you attach it to the cap.  Then all you do is fill your stainless steel water bottle with tap water to enjoy!  What could be easier and safer for your consumption?  This tap filter effectively filters the chlorine, lead and other heavy metals, taste odors and more, safely and soundly. Watergeeks filtered stainless steel water bottle is easy to maintain and the stainless steel factor is virtually indestructible and durable.  No more worries and concerns about the use of plastic water bottles, not to mention the expense of buying water in bottles and lugging them to and from the stores.  Thanks Watergeeks for introducing this wonderful creation to our world!

I am always looking for items that are environmentally friendly and the Watergeeks have found a way.  I like that you can use the filter they provide to clean and purify the water instead of buying bottled water.  By holding 24 oz., it lasts long enough for several hours.  The filters last approximatly 5 months for easy "filling and forgetting".  Reordering filters is a breeze at www.watergeeks.com. The curved shape makes it easy to handle.  I also love that you can customize the color of the bottle and the cap to easily fit your personality.

Enjoy 100% pure H2O! If that's what you're looking for on the go then look for Watergeeks! These filters are not only fun to carry but each of the bottles come with sport caps and removable tap filters. Also they are offered in all different colors that you can mix and match. It's a great product to have with you that is healthy for the environment. I also love having clean fresh water with me at the gym. I have been using this bottle while I work out and I just love it! Watergeeks is really helping save the environment and provides us with clean tasting water that filters chlorine, bad taste, odor, lead and any other water pollutants.

When opening the packaging on Saturday I was pleasantly surprised to find the attractive yellow bottle well protected within the box. The sleek curves of the bottle make it easy on the eyes and comfortable to use. Reading the information that came with the product I was shocked to find out that only 10% of plastic bottles are recycled and the rest end up in landfills. Being an environmentally friendly person, using this bottle helps me to do my bit for the global environment. I am keen on keeping fit and have already taken my Watergeek on a bike ride and will be using it down the gym this week. Once I purchase the Advanced Filter this will become an essential travel companion and will be accompanying me on all my future holidays. Some of my friends already want one and will be buying a bottle as soon as they work out where it can be purchased in the UK. Do your bit, stop buying plastic bottle that will end up in landfill and buy a sexy sleek Watergeek.

Constantly on the go, my water bottle accompanies me everywhere. Unfortunately, the quality of the water is never constant and on several occasions I found myself investing in bottled water. That was until I was introduced to WaterGeeks Stainless Steel Bottle with Filter. I love how easy it is to use; fill the bottle with tap water, snap the filter onto the top and it filters the water as I drink. And more importantly, I love the taste and the knowledge that the water I am drinking is free from harmful environmental toxins. The filter works to eliminate chlorine and heavy metals (such as lead, mercury and copper) while the stainless steel bottle is BPA free, unlike many other aluminum water bottles on the market. WaterGeeks also has an advanced filter which can be used on the stainless steel bottle to filter bacteria and ground water contaminants - the ideal solution when traveling! I love my hot pink water bottle, although there are a wide selection of colors to choose from, including various colored bottles and tops that can be mixed and matched. This is a brilliant product and one that I will be purchasing as gifts for friends, even those who don't currently use a refillable water bottle, as I'm confident that it will transform their water consumption habits.

Americans named "Drinking Water Contamination" as their number one environmental concern in recent (2008) Gallop Polls. A July 2009 Environmental Working Group report documents the leading health concerns associated with public water supply treatments (Chlorine, Chloramine, Fluoride) and the leaching of lead that has resulted in "shockingly high" contaminant levels found in children. The new
Watergeeks (TM) "tap filters" were specifically designed to be used in in BPA-Free stainless steel bottles and to effectively filter chlorine, lead and heavy metals, tastes, odors and other potential contaminants from "tap water". Each filter yields about 600 servings (16 ounce) of water before requiring replacement and retail under $10.00 each.

The recent public outrage regarding the historic usage of bisphenol A (BPA) in the lining of aluminum water bottles is only one of many reasons Watergeeks(TM) utilizes stainless steel instead of aluminum in its water bottles. Stainless steel is corrosion, rust and stain resistant and therefore does not require a liner that may potentially leach, break down or even develop mold if not properly cared for. Stainless steel bottles are dishwasher safe, do not retain or impart flavors and keep beverages cooler longer than aluminum bottles. From an environmental standpoint, aluminum requires more energy to produce, utilizes less recycled materials in its production and emits much higher Green House Gases (GHGs) in the manufacturing process. In fact, in addition to carbons and S02's (primary pre-cursor of acid rain), aluminum smelting is a leading source of PFC (at least 6,000 times more potent than CO2s and last 10,000 years) emissions in America today. Watergeeks(TM) stainless steel bottles are made with 60-70% recycled materials and are 100% recyclable.

"While some focus on selling the world more bottled water every day and others are satisfied marketing reusable water bottles that may compromise the health or environmental beliefs of their consumers, we focus on building water bottles built for today's world" stated Brent Meikle, Founder and CEO of Watergeeks(TM). "Watergeeks(TM) bottles have always been BPA-Freeand our new filtered stainless steel bottles embody our corporate mission of creating innovative and easy-to-use products that empower today's consumers to experience both a healthier 'you' and a healthier 'planet'." The new Watergeeks(TM) bottles are available in over 60 different color combinations and can be purchased online at www.watergeeks.com beginning September 15th, 2009 or at leading retailers beginning October 15th, 2009.
