NIGHTLIGHT: 901 Silver Tequila Sponsors Foundation Rwanda: An Evening of Food and Fotos. A Hit Event by the Best Tequila in Manhattan!

The event even was held at one of our favorite places: Bonhams!  If your read Whom You Know religiously, you know we talk about Bonhams every day!  And we enjoyed being there even more knowing it was for a good cause, surrounded by fabulous cuisine.  The evening features an exhibition of portraits from Rwanda by photographer Jonathan Torgovnik as well as contemporary photographs by Platon, Eugene Richards, Steve Pyke, Nigel Parry, Gillian Laub, Elinor Carucci, Jonathan Torgovnik, Pieter Hugo, Martin Schoeller, Ruven Afanador, Brent Stirton, Slim Aarons & many more.  Plus, we learned about some fabulous new cocktails that are perfect to share with you for the weekend!

901 Silver is proud to unveil six new cocktails created by top New York mixologists in conjunction with its sponsorship of Foundation Rwanda: An Evening of Food and Fotos featuring tasting tables and signature dishes from 30 of New York City's top chefs and mixologists .  

Anfora, a new wine bar scheduled to open later this month from Joey Campanale, Gabe Thompson and Katherine Thompson of L’Artusi and dell’anima fame, debuts its signature 901 Silver Purple Pedro.  The cocktail will be showcased on Anfora’s cocktail menu with a portion of the proceeds continuing to support Foundation Rwanda.

  • To support the occasion and showcase some of the best ways to use the Platinum SIP Award Medal winner, the following  901 Silver cocktails were created by participating restaurants:
 
    • Rwanda Refresh, Mixologist: Clinton Addison (dell'anima - NYC)
      1/2 ounce fresh lime juice, 3/4 ounce pineapple juice, 1 and 1/2 ounce 901 Silver Tequila, Shake.  Strain into rocks glass filled with ice.  Top with splash of ginger beer
    • 901 Rosina, Mixologist: Dave Arnold (The French Culinary Institute - NYC)
      2  1/2 oz 901 Silver Tequila, 3oz Clarified Strawberry Juice, 75 oz simple syrup, Pinch of Malic Acid, Pinch of Citric Acid, Salt to taste, Mint for garnish
    • 901 Purple Pedro, Mixologist: Elissa Crum (Anfora - NYC)
      2 oz 901 Silver Tequila infused with chamomile tea, 2 oz fresh sour mix, 1 oz lavender syrup 
    • Kalamansilver, Mixologist: King Phojanakong (Kuma Inn – NYC & Umi Nom - Brooklyn)
      901 Silver Tequila (more), kalamansi juice, ginger juice, simple syrup, club soda, thai basil (garnish) (less)
    • La Senorita, Mixologist: Adam Schuman (Fatty 'Cue - Brooklyn)
      1 1/2 oz. 901 Silver Tequila, 1 oz. Smoked Pineapple Syrup, 3/4 oz. Lime, Juice, 3-4 Dashes of Tabasco
    • Valley Vista, Mixologist: Zachary Sharaga (Louis Bar - NYC)
      901 Silver Tequila, Lime Juice, Homemade grenadine, Cucumber Jalapeño (optional)
