SI Workshop: Creating Art with Hanoch Piven

Creating Art with Hanoch Piven

Thursday, July 8, 2010 6:30 - 8:30pm

Hanoch Piven, multiple award-winning illustrator, will lead a hands-on, collage workshop for anyone who wants to free their inner child. Piven's workshop will focus on the idea of playing intuitively with objects, maximizing trial-and-error and taking advantage of serendipity, which are all very useful tools to explore any creative medium.

Piven is known for using ordinary objects to create striking celebrity portraits for clients such as Time, Rolling Stone, The New Yorker, The New York Times and Random House.
Although we'll provide some junk for you to play with, attendees must bring their own ordinary objects to be able to work in-class.

$35 non-members $20 members $15 students. Limited to 50 people. Open to all ages!
This workshop is in conjunction with the exhibit EARTH: Fragile Planet, and is made possible in part with public funds from the Fund for Creative Communities, supported by the New York State Council on the Arts and administered by the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. The Society would like to thank the Office of Cultural Affairs, Consulate General of Israel in New York for their generous support.
