Redken's Runway Report from Paris: EMANUEL UNGARO & YVES SAINT LAURENT with hair by Guido

At the Emmanuel Ungaro and Yves Saint Laurent’s shows in Paris, the hair was full of braids and beauty, see Redken’s runway hair recap below on each high fashion, high shine look and the steps and products to re-create the look!

---

At Emanuel Ungaro, the looks was a wet, high shine, small head with a braided headband, inspired by a German/Austrian girl who has grown up, someone who would have been the muse of the German-Austrian acclaimed photographer Helmut Newton (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helmut_Newton)

"The designer is an old friend and it's his first time designing for this house so it's a pleasure to be here.  For the hair style, we decided on a Heidi inspired braided headband look.  There is something very innocent about this style, but once the girls have their makeup done with dark lips, she turns into this very sexy, decadent, Helmut Newton woman." –Guido, Redken Creative Consultant

Redken products:
-hardwear 16 super strong gel
-glass 01 smoothing serum

Create the look:
- With a water spray bottle, damp hair all the way through
- Create a center part all the way down the hair
- Layer in hardware gel so each level of hair is saturated
- Pull hair into two low pigtails (very clean, done with a comb)
- If the woman's hair is 3 inches or more past the shoulder, braid pigtails and secure with an elastic.  Wrap a piece of hair around the elastic so it's hidden (if hair is shorter, wrap the pigtail with an extension for length).  Wrap a piece of hair around the elastic so it's hidden).
- Wrap each braided pigtail on top of the head to create a headband and secure with pins.
- Finish by applying glass 01 smoothing serum all over the head for that high shine, wet look.

At Yves Saint Laurent, the look was once again, wet with high-shine, but this time it was an inverted roll around the head, inspired by a strong woman.

“For this show, the designer wanted a very structured look, so we went with a style that is very close to the head and high-shine and wet looking. This represents a very strong woman and the shine adds a bit of drama.” –Guido, Redken Creative Consultant

Redken Products:
-hardwear 16 super strong gel
-forceful 23 super strength finishing spray

Create the Look:
-Damp hair with a water spray bottle all the way through.
-Create a center part hair from roots to crown.
-Layer in the hardwear 16 super strong gel for a high-shine look that is slick to the head
-Beginning on one side above the ear, begin twisting the hair inward (horizontally across the head), adding more hair as you twist around the head.  Stop at the center.
-Do the same on the other side
-Once both sides are twisted inward, take the longer back portion and twist upward towards the head to meet the other two twists.  Secure with pins and finish with forceful 23 super strength finishing spray for hold.
