Peachy's Pantry: The Ultimate Comfort Food – As Warm as a Hug Pot Pies that Nurture the Soul. Vegetable Pot Pies Highly Recommended by Whom You Know!

Twin Hens™ is bringing traditional American food back to its origin – the way home cooked meals were before preservatives, antibiotics and hormones. We are super patriotic at Whom You Know, so we could not wait to try these!

Their succulent Chicken and Beef Pot Pies are made with antibiotic and hormone-free meats as well as organic vegetables and sweet AA butter – and no hydrogenated oils!   We have recommended those both previously and today we turn to the vegetable version.  Frozen at the peak of cooking perfection, they taste like they have been simmering on the stove for hours.

Twin Hens™ Founders, Kathy Herring and Linda Twining are both graduates of culinary institutes, La Varenne and the Institute of Culinary Education. They are also busy mothers who didn’t want to compromise taste and nutrition for convenience sake. Just 45 minutes in the oven and their Pot Pies are melt-in-your mouth, ready to eat. According to Herring, “we wanted the “fast” without fast food.”

Peachy's Pantry Panel tried the Vegetable Pot Pie next, and the panelists comment:

For a taste sensation that's different from the usual chicken or meat-filled pot pies, I'd go with a vegetable pot pie.  Twin Hens' Artisan Comfort Foods' vegetable pot pie, prepared Tex Mex style, is a slight deviation from the usual pot pie formula but just as delicious and satisfying as a regular one.  Filled with a mixture of vegetables like tomatoes, kidney beans, onion, corn and zucchini, and peppered with spices like cumin, chile powder, oregano and chipotle chile, this is a zesty and unique pot pie that's not just a standard chicken pot pie minus the chicken.  A little bit of brown rice is added into the mix and the crust is topped with some Monterey Jack cheese, giving the entire dish a Tex Mex flavor that's distinct and quite satisfying.  This is a great vegetarian alternative to the almost always meat-filled pot pies.

Vegetable pot pie? Say it ain't so! Twin Hens vegetable pot pie has hit the nail on it's head. You will never make a pot pie ever again! Just grab one of Twin Hens vegetable pot pies and indulge yourself. The perfect combination of ingredients make for a perfect meal. The light flaky crust makes you feel like it's home cooked. They use the freshest vegetables - your mouth won't skip a beat.

If you are looking for something a little different than your traditional pot pie, Twin Hens also makes a Tex Mex style vegetable pot pie.  This pot pie is filled with healthy vegetables like tomatoes, corn, and zucchini. The vegetables are mixed with kidney beans and brown rice and the whole mixture is topped with gooey monterey jack cheese.  The pie has just the right amount of spice.  It has a Southwest flare without being too hot or spicy.  The ingredients tasted so fresh, you would never imagine that the pie was sitting in your freezer just moments before you began eating!  This is another winner from Twin Hens.  The pies are easy and quick to make, yet there is no sacrifice in quality.  I highly recommend Twin Hens!!

I love eating pot pies, especially in the winter.  They are the ultimate comfort food for me.  I've always been one to stick with chicken pot pie, but when I saw the vegetable one, I had to try it.  It is now my new favorite!  The crust was awesome too.  It had that flaky-ness that I love.  I was very sad when I finished it; I didn't want it to end.  I brought it for lunch one day to work and everyone said how good it smelled and looked.  I would definitely continue to buy this pot pie.
