ALMS WEEK IN REVIEW: May 14

THE SWEET SOUNDS OF TESTING AT ROAD ATLANTA
Muscle Milk Aston Martin Racing was one of multiple teams from the American Le Mans Series that made trips to Road Atlanta this week for some testing. If you’ve missed the intoxicating scream of the Aston Martin V12, check out the footage captured at Road Atlanta on Wednesday.

JUNQUEIRA, DA MATTA AIMING TO BRING JAGUAR TO THE FRONT
Could 2011 be JaguarRSR’s breakthrough season? With a talented duo like Cristiano da Matta and Bruno Junqueira behind the wheel, the future certainly looks bright for the second-year team. Read why broadcaster Jeremy Shaw’s favorite moments from the Tequila Patrón American Le Mans Series at Long Beach included da Matta and Junqueira wheeling the Jaguar XKR GT to a sixth-place class finish.

WHAT A GUY: AN ACTION-PACKED 2011 FOR GUY SMITH
Tag along on the world travels of 2003 Le Mans winner Guy Smith in the first entry for his 2011 blog series. Smith is one of the most well-traveled drivers in the paddock of the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón. The British star will be extra busy this year with a pair of high-profile 24-hour races – Le Mans and Nurburgring.

RIDE ALONG WITH GENOA RACING IN EUROPE
In addition to its full-season campaign in this year’s American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón, Genoa Racing is running its ORECA FLM09 in Europe – including the Le Mans Test Day and the Spa 1,000K within the past month.

Go on-board with Elton Julian around the Circuit de la Sarthe in a special lap of Le Mans during April’s Test Day. Then, watch as the Genoa car is hit by Matthieu Lahaye's Oak Racing LMP1 machine at Spa, resulting in the most violent crash of the weekend.

LIZARDS AT LE MANS
Flying Lizard announced its driver lineup for the 2011 24 Heures du Mans, June 11-12 at the Circuit de la Sarthe in Le Mans, France. Joerg Bergmeister (Germany), Patrick Long (USA) and Lucas Luhr (Germany) will team in the Flying Lizard No. 80 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR in the GTE Pro class. Darren Law (USA), Seth Neiman (USA) and Spencer Pumpelly (USA) will pilot the Flying Lizard No. 81 Porsche in the GTE Am class.

SERIES WELCOMES TAYLOR CARSON TO PR STAFF
The American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón is pleased to welcome Taylor Carson to its public relations team. A native of Sebring, Fla., Carson has interned for the Series at previous Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida races. A University of Florida graduate, Carson will focus on green racing and Austin Hatcher Foundation initiatives, fan activities and special events while contributing to the department’s media relations and social media efforts.
