READ THIS: My Daddy Loves Boston College Football, by Michael Shoule @readtogetherbks

If you know Peachy, there are not many things in life that she enjoys more or as much as Boston College Football. She had suntanned in her forehead "Beat Notre Dame" for three weeks freshman year when she wrote it in maroon lipstick...and fortunately they did beat Notre Dame that year and we know who the most Irish Catholic school is in the USA. Peachy shows her support in every way, shape and form possible and if you remember she was always taking pictures on the sidelines for Eagle Action which is now rivals.com. Peachy's pal, Mike Shoule, BC ‘92, Gridiron Club Member, penned quite the book for his children to understand the excitement. What do we think? We think every child alive would love this book and if you ever thought our reviews were unbiased, think again.

Peachy Deegan was a tour guide for Boston College starting her freshman year and to this day still works with the admissions office.  Whom You Know was originally maroon and gold but we changed to green on St. Patrick's Day because Peachy loves being Irish and we changed last week to be red, white and blue because she is superpatriotic.  The most Irish and superpatriotic and enthusiastic people in the world attend Boston College, so this book could not make more sense.  In fact the only thing Peachy did not like about this book was the title because if she had kids it should read "Mommy" instead, so both parents should be there.  Our panel, which is partially composed of past Boston College football players who love reading Whom You Know...just check out who Peachy's friends are on Facebook, raves:

I had the pleasure of reading the new children’s book by Mike Shoule & Duncan Chinnock titled “My Daddy Loves Boston College Football” and it almost brought a tear to my eye.  With my wife 20 weeks pregnant, it gave me the chills to know that I will be reading this to my son in about 20 or so more weeks.  It is a super cute book filled with father and son illustrations about attending a BC football game in the fall.  Being an alum, fan and soon-to-be-father it really was the perfect Father’s Day gift.   It’s such a great little quick read for a child, it rhymes, it’s colorful and has meaning.  I absolutely loved the book and was elated to have received and read the book.  I will be sure to read it a million times over the next 3 years.  The best part, other than it being about BC Football, is a portion of the proceeds go to The Boston College Campus School & The Doug Flurite, Jr. Foundation for Autism.

BC Football Children's Book is so adorable! As a former Alumni of the College I can't begin to tell you about my BC pride. I am so happy that I will be able to share this with my children and all of the other children in my family. The book is small and light weight. The story is cute and rhymes - really gets adults and children into it. Not to mention the extremely adorable illustrations. It's just perfect all around! GO BC! GO EAGLES!

Like most mom's I am always excited to find a book my husband will want to read at bedtime with the kiddos. This, afterall, isn't a duty I am against sharing. The problem is finding the needed books. My Daddy Loves Boston College Football by Michael Shoule and Duncan Chinnock is exactly the book you need. And, I say this fully noting my husband did not go to BC! It is super cute, and a fun book that any dad can get into. My husband actually subs out BC for his alma matter -- should I admit that!?!? LOL! It is a great tool to get dad's and kids together and reading and dare I say -- having fun!!!

"My Daddy Loves Boston College Football" is a fun little board book.  Written by Michael Shoule and Duncan Chinnock and illustrated by Arnel Reynon, this is the story of a father sharing his love of football with his child.  This sweet story takes the reader through the rituals of game day from dressing in the BC colors to returning home after the game, weary from all the excitement.  Of course it would make sense that anyone affiliated with Boston College would really enjoy this book, but it is a fun read for any football fan!  The illustrations are fantastic!  They are colorful and animated and they really caught the attention of my three year old son.  This is a quick read and would make a fun addition to any child's book collection.  Go, BC!
Boston College Football is children’s book that proud BC alumni will truly appreciate.  It tells the story of a young boy attending an Eagles football game with his father, in which they tailgate, cheer, and sing the BC fight song.  For many proud alumni, taking their children to football games is common, making the simple story perfect to relate to.  And they will really enjoy sharing that pride with their kids.  The book does a great job of appealing to both parents and children.  Its clever rhymes and eye-catching illustrations will hold the attention of the most high-energy kids.  At the same time, parents will enjoy the charming story, and above all, they will love sharing their love of Boston College football with their children.  The book would be a perfect gift for BC alumni and their kids.

What a wonderful book for beginning readers.  It's durable board material makes it perfect for those little hands that are learning to read.  The story, a dad sharing his love of BC football with his son, is so heartwarming.  They are making wonderful memories and sharing this book with your own children, you would be making wonderful memories.  I remember always reading with one of my parents before going to bed.  This is a perfect book to read with your child before going to bed.  While I didn't attend BC, I found myself looking into the BC football schedule.  I highly recommend this book.

Whom You Know Highly Recommends My Daddy Loves Boston College Football. Be sure to buy one for every kid you know because a portion of the profits are being donated to the Boston College Campus School where the author volunteered as a student and the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism.

Brainwashing or indoctrination? Tomato, tomato? My Daddy Loves Boston College Football is a fun board book that tells the tale of a father sharing his love of his favorite college football team with his children. From tailgating to touchdowns and everything in between, each vibrant illustration shows another depiction of the bonding that takes place with a Dad and his children when they are rooting for the home team all season long.

Knowing the importance of reading to his children as infants and toddlers to help them develop their vocabulary, author Michael Shoule got a bit tired of tales about hippos and horses. Upon attending his college reunion and finding nothing of interest in the campus bookstore, he took matters into his own hands thus providing countless fathers with a book that wouldn’t put them to sleep while they were putting their little one to sleep…and their significant others with the perfect Father’s Day gift.

My Daddy Loves Boston College Football

The love of family, football, and fun has been wonderfully combined in this first title from Read Together Books that is sure to capture the heart of young and old alike. It is the story of a Dad sharing his love of his favorite college football team with his child from an early age not only by watching them play on television, but more importantly by going to a game together. From tailgating, to kickoff, to the band’s halftime show, to the happy, but tired ride home, My Daddy Loves Boston College Football covers all of those lifelong memories that are first created when a father and child bond over the shared love of “their” team.  Boston College Eagles fans will love reading this board book over and over again to the little Eagles fans in their lives.

A few years ago the author’s college reunion happened to be just six months after the birth of his first child. Mike Shoule went to the BC bookstore looking to buy his son Nathaniel a BC kid’s book that he could read to his son each night. Fortunately there were no books that fit the bill and so Read Together Books was born.
