My almost four year old son happened to have a four year old friend over when I opened the box containing the Treasure Chest Pet. You would have thought it was Christmas morning and Santa had just arrived! Their little hands couldn't get the dog out fast enough. I heard squeals of, "He's so cute!', "Ooh! He's so cuddly and cozy" and then..."He has a secret drawer!!!" followed by "I can hide my pirate treasure in there, mom!" This dog really is cute! His big, fluffy head is attached to his body by a magnet, making the head a detachable pillow. There is a "secret" drawer hidden in the body which now contains my son's pirate treasure! The Treasure Chest Pet entertained my son and his friend for quite some time. They took turns resting on the pillow and trying to decide on a name (I'm not sure what the final outcome was...). Seeing as the Treasure Chest Pet was such a hit, I think I know what we will be purchasing my son's friend for her birthday! It is a cute, practical, fun toy that any child will enjoy!

TC Pets® began when Sandra Castillo approached 7 time licensor Lisa Lloyd to help her bring her newly patented invention to market. Lloyd’s products have grossed over $30 million in retail sales and Castillo hoped to leverage that success and license her new patent to an existing successful company.
After discussing the product with several companies, Lloyd determined that the product had tremendous potential and decided to invest in the concept and start a new company rather than license the patent rights. Lloyd, former Ex. VP of New Business Development for Scunci, had been considering building a company with new products for years, but had not found the right product mix. “This product is not like other inventions, it has almost limitless line extension opportunities” says Lloyd. “That makes building a company opposed to licensing the technology much more attractive!”
Lloyd has licensed the patent from Ms. Castillo and, with a small group of investors, has redesigned the product, manufactured several prototypes, established manufacturing in China, become a proud member of TIA and launched the new line of “Plush Organizers” at ToyFair 2008.
TC Pets has been sold in over 400 stores and been featured in numerous magazines like Disney as well as on television. Most recently Lloyd pitched the business on the ABC reality show, “Shark Tank” and earned the coveted investment of one of the sharks, Daymond John.
