City of New York Recognizes 100 Women In Hedge Funds' 10th Anniversary

In recognition of the 10th Anniversary of 100 Women in Hedge Funds ("100WHF"), Mayor Bloomberg has proclaimed September 19, 2011 in the City of New York as "100 Women in Hedge Funds Day."

The Proclamation states:

"New Yorkers are some of the most generous and civic-minded people in the world. We understand that giving back is a responsibility we all share, and that everyone, no matter how busy, can make a difference. 100 Women in Hedge Funds provides not only an invaluable network of mutual support for women in the industry, but an effective way for them to lend their time and talents to good causes. Our city applauds their efforts, and joins them in looking forward to even greater achievements in the decade ahead."

Since its formation in 2001, 100WHF has brought together over 10,000 women finance professionals across 14 locations on three continents worldwide focused on three core pillars: Education, Philanthropy, and Peer Leverage. Over the past 10 years, 100WHF has hosted over 300 educational events focused on current news and industry topics, as well as organized numerous peer advisory group meetings for its members. The organization brings together women professionals across the globe at various levels in the alternatives investment community. 100WHF provides numerous forums for its members to share and leverage off one another's experiences, including senior practitioner sessions that have connected hundreds of practitioners globally, and an exclusive member networking platform called 100WHF Connect!. Finally, 100WHF's philanthropic initiatives have raised over $21.5 million for select beneficiaries, impacting thousands of people through charities founded in support of women's health, mentoring and education.

Commenting on the 10th anniversary, Sonia Gardner, Chair of 100WHF's 10th Anniversary Committee and Board member, said: "This year, we celebrate a decade of accomplishments that our members have worked hard to achieve. We are honored to receive the Mayoral Proclamation from Mayor Bloomberg, and we are extremely grateful for this extraordinary recognition. Through volunteer efforts led by our members, we make a difference in our industry and community with unique educational programming, professional leverage initiatives and philanthropy. I'm proud to be part of such a wonderful organization dedicated to the successes of its members and its cause, and we all look forward to another 10 years of setting new goals and reaching new heights."
