Linen and China go hand in hand!  And as we get closer to the holiday season, it is totally appropriate to consider updating your fine china.  We absolutely love, love, LOVE the Mikasa Cyclone White-it truly is dining redesigned.  At first glance, it evokes Frank Lloyd Wright and Mover and Shaker Andre Kikoski with their respective Guggenheim masterpieces.  But these are even better since you eat off of them and can use them every day!
Your Mikasa Cyclone White day begins with a piping hot coffee in this beautiful mug!  A dash of Bailey's is optional...the unique curvature around complimented by the classy thin handle that looks so fine but is so sturdy will make you want to hop out of bed and drink your coffee!  And who needs a morning paper-just log on to your favorite site (us!) and sip out of your lovely Mikasa Cyclone White mug and surely before long you'll be seeing us write about the latest and greatest by Mikasa again-we have loved this brand for a long time.  Also, the name Cyclone was not lost on us...
...because we love the Cyclone coaster in Coney Island!  This china is equally fun but don't take your Cyclone White on the Cyclone of course that would absolutely not be proper etiquette. Joining your coffee for your breakfast party is this gorgeous bowl which is a perfect size for oatmeal in the winter and cold cereal in the summer.  It is just deep enough while remaining the height of elegance at the same time.  Totally practical, we love that these can be microwaved (come on, how do you think Peachy cooks!) and put in the dishwasher.
It's hip to be square with the salad plate, and though it is square it has not lost any of its curvature with the beautiful swirled circle that keeps your salad inbetween lines!  Of course this plate goes beyond the salad and is great for your morning rye toast or Irish soda bread too. This set evokes versatile style that goes from day to night, and from bunny macaroni and cheese (Annie's!  It does taste better shaped like bunnies!) to the most exclusive dinner party.  Versatility is so important in a place like Manhattan where space is so tight...you're not in your country house where you have room for multiple sets of china.  Dining on this set will make you feel like you are the last word in modern haute couture in china, and as we said it is most nicely set off with linen by Liz Barbatelli's E. Braun in Beverly Hills.
Finally, the dinner plate arrives!  When Peachy gets takeout that is particularly tremendous, she takes it out of the container and photographs it on this!  You don't think she eats out of takeout containers, do you?  You know she doesn't as she talks about Mikasa all of the time!

Mikasa Cyclone White is an unexpected combination of lines and curves that create windswept movement, where every arc is a whirlwind of excitement. Its clean, contemporary form is highlighted by a rim that dramatically sweeps down into a circular well. The ultra-modern white design is simple enough to use everyday, yet striking enough for formal dining. Crafted from durable bone china, this pattern is microwave and dishwasher safe for easy care. A 4-piece place setting includes a dinner plate, a salad plate, a soup bowl and a mug for a suggested retail price of $59.99. Accessory pieces include a vegetable bowl and a platter.
And we could not give this line a higher endorsement-smart, beautiful, practical all in the name of serving up fine cuisine...we applaud Mikasa for their Cyclone White!
