READ THIS: Eloise's Pirate Adventure By Lisa McClatchy Illustrated by: Tammie Lyon in the Style of: Kay Thompson and Hilary Knight

Every child just loves to dress up! So when teaching children to read it is great to pick a subject they are interested in. Eloise’s Pirate Adventure is a great Ready-To-Read Book at Level 1. My daughter just adores Eloise almost as much as I do. So getting her to sit and practice is easy when it comes to Eloise. She loves to see what kind of trouble or exciting adventure she will get into next as a pirate this time.

Arrr, matey! That's the response I got from many of my young ladies when I asked about if they liked Eloise's Pirate Adventure. I could see them making eye patches from paper and rolling up construction paper to make a binocular. The boys even wanted to read this one. I had more requests for this Eloise book than any other. I am a little excited to see what my students have in store for their pirate adventure. This is one of the best Eloise books ever.

In a house that is all about princesses only Eloise can make us happy with swashbucklers! Reading Eloise's Pirate Adventure has broadened our horizons! "X" marks the spot as my 3 year old follows Eloise on her treasure hunt through the infamous Plaza Hotel. Should I note she tries to tow her baby sister!?!? Dare I say we are trading in the tiara collection for eye patches? Well, not anytime soon BUT this is a great activity to practice on rainy days. Bring on the cartography (while we wear our crowns of course)!

My four year old is very into "Jake and the Neverland Pirate" right now, so a pirate book was right up his alley! Eloise loves, loves, loves to play dress up! "So do I mom!" exclaimed my four year old. In "Eloise's Pirate Adventure", Eloise is a pirate and Weenie (her dog) is her first mate. Pirate Eloise is on the hunt for treasure! She questions Nanny, room service, the chef and finally, The Plaza manager. With the Plaza manager, she finds treasure...chocolate coins! Pirate Eloise and first mate, Weenie are content at last (well, at least for now, that is!).

Eloise Pirate Adventure makes believe that she is a pirate and its fun reading her adventure. This book really captures the essence of Eloise. Children love this book and so do adults. For me it brings me back to my childhood when I couldn't put these books down. This is a great way to teach your kids about the joy of reading. If you haven't read any Eloise books enjoy reading them with your children. Join in on the adventure!
