Terrific Takeout: Soupburg

Soupburg is just the kind of neighborhood place you want to frequent for a terrific burger and the owner John was right: the burgers at Soupburg are lovely!  Established in 1949 by John's dad, Soupburg is clearly doing a lot of things right to stay in business so long.  Originally they were on Madison and 73rd but today you can find them at 1095 Lexington Ave.  The bacon cheeseburger was grilled medium as requested by Peachy and it absolutely hit the spot.
There it is a little closer!
At John's suggestion, we tried the Split Pea Soup which happened to be the soup of the day when we visited Soupburg for takeout.  Peachy never before liked Split Pea Soup, but she likes THIS Split Pea Soup!  It even has a bacon flavor because it is cooked with bacon, but the bacon is removed in the final product.  Soupburg makes their own croutons too!
The Chef Salad was very good and the vegetables were so fresh and crisp.
The Chicken Parm absolutely hit the spot and it is one of the best we've had in recent times.  It did not want to sit still for the camera long because of its obvious excitement to enter Peachy's stomach...
Soupburg is Terrific Takeout!
Soupburg is at 1095 Lexington 212 744 8641...no website at the moment.
