Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island Announce Extended Summer Hours

For the first time ever, Statue of Liberty National Monument
and Ellis Island has extended its summer hours, which means that guests can
now plan a late afternoon departure without having to choose between the
islands, giving visitors more flexibility in organizing their trip.

Through Labor Day (Sept. 3, 2012), ferries depart Battery Park as late as 5
p.m. and return from the national icons as late as 7 p.m. New Yorkers and

Statue of Liberty as dusk falls and explore Ellis Island after most
visitors have left for the day. The new summer hours also provide an
attractive post-work alternative and a pleasant way to take advantage of
warm summer evenings.
