READ THIS: 37¢ a Fart and other Infamous Animal Stories by Henry Harvey

When I saw the title of this book, I knew I would love it. Having two dogs myself, I found myself finding how true many of these stories were as I was reading. It had me laughing so hard at some points and crying at others. I also loved the drawings that accompanied this book. It added so much more to the experience. One of the recurring characters, Gigi the Boston Terrier, is one of the dogs I hope to have at some point in my life. I loved how each chapter had a different feel to it, so it didn't get stagnant. This is a book I can see myself enjoying time and time again. Not many books I read can I say that I will read or have read more than once. This would be a book that I read and reread. If you are an animal lover or know of one, this is the perfect book for them. One of my best friends has many furry friends at her house and I know she would love this book.

I love anything and everything having to do with animals. Because of this, I was very excited to read the book "37¢ a Fart"! The book is not about famous, heroic animals like other books I've read before. It is a collection of funny and bittersweet stories about the real creatures that we live with and adore! This book also is not just about cats and dogs. The 44 stories in this book are also about mice, snakes, bats and more! I enjoyed the short stories in this book because they reminded me of the personal stories I have with the animals I have lived with! There is never a dull moment with them and it is wonderful that people shared their stories in this book. This is an easy book to read and enjoy. The stories captivate you and make you keep wanting to read more!

37¢ a Fart and other Infamous Animal Stories - it sounds at first, like it might be a book filled with silly, juvenile stories, but don't let the title fool you. While there is indeed, the title story, the book is filled with all kinds of animal anecdotes that will make you smile, sigh, laugh, and even feel moved. Author Henry Harvey, who lives on a farm in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and has spent his whole life around animals, truly lets his love for animals shine through. The book is charming, engaging, and endearing, and clearly a labor of love for its dedicated author. It features 44 separate stories about all kinds of animals. These aren't your typical "Lassie" stories; they're real stories about real, imperfect (but loveable!) animals. There are cats and dogs, for sure, but also bats, snakes, mice, and snapping turtles among others! Adding to the enjoyment of the book are the dozens of illustrations and photographs, which are sprinkled generously throughout its pages. I thoroughly enjoyed reading all of the terrific tales, and actually am looking forward to reading them again when I need a pick-me-up! This book is definitely a must-read for any animal lover, or anyone who simply wants a smile brought to their face!
