We at Whom You Know simply love staying on top of the latest trends, and thanks to Schiffer Publishing, it's easier than ever! Their "Emerging Fashion Designers" series is a wonderful showcase for up-and-coming designers fresh out of the top design programs in the United States. Emerging Fashion Designers 3 by Sally Congdon-Martin features the exciting work of more than 100 recent graduates of 16 of the country's top programs. Containing over 400 beautiful images, the book is an exciting glimpse of the future of fashion. From evening wear to menswear to children's wear and beyond, there is a wide variety of styles featured, and it is exciting to flip through the pages and get a sneak peek of what's on the horizon from some of the most talented and innovative young designers in the country. The designers are featured in alphabetical order, and indexed by school at the back of the book, making it very easy to navigate. Each design is accompanied by a brief explanation of the designer's inspiration, as well as a list of the materials, which provides fascinating insight into the minds of these budding talents. The designs run the gamut from simple and classic to cutting edge and daring, and it's fun to browse the designs and imagine which of these designers' names are going to become household names in the future. Whether fashion is your business or your hobby, Emerging Fashion Designers 3 is a book you simply must take the time to look through and appreciate - you'll be glad you did! Highly recommended!

Schiffer adds to their brilliant series of showcase books that detail the exciting fashion collections of graduating designers. This is #3, as innovative as the previous 2, with glimpses of the senior classes from 16 premier design programs Stateside. From the University of Cincinnati, Alisha Benchley applies the time honored craft of patchwork with an ombre palette that sings America by it's very application. Dana Marie Burmeister, inspired by my own personal hero, Bob Mackie, cuts wood with lasers and creates luxe gowns a la africaine. Harrison Johnson, from Drexel University in Philadelphia translates an origami structure into innovative accessories. Inspiration for some, and a necessity for students of fashion as a viable art form, the series affords us a glimpse into the future of fashion. From classic to de-constructed, knitwear to textile application, the collections represent a wide variety of treatment and perspective. Schiffer as a publishing house brings to the public an array of fashion, art and diversified books that speak to the alternative reader. For the collector in the field of fashion, their catalogue serves an an adjunct to any study program, or research project. This series by Sally Condone-Martin underlies the importance of our next generation of fashion designers, and creates a bank of important images to track their progress.

Because the designers in this book are emerging and mostly young, you will probably not recognize them. However, you are still inspired by the great photos and illustrations in this book. The creations are superb and a true testament to creativity and originality. You can see them pay some homage to past designers but each piece is unique. Schiffer does a great job of publishing books that dive deeper into the creativity of the artisans and artists they are showcasing. Linking inspiration to creation. Great for those who are thirsting for more fashion and more great designs. I only hope to see some of these great collections come to life. And if they have where can I find them?

I've always been very interested in fashion design. It's wonderful to see that the latest edition of this book, Emerging Fashion Designers 3 is just as exciting as the previous books! The book showcases exciting new designs from recent graduates from 16 different fashion design programs throughout the United States! The color images in this book are stunning. The garments featured in the book are unique and innovative which makes it very exciting to look through! The book is well organized in alphabetical order by artist and is indexed by school. Looking through this book really keeps you up to date on the latest trends in high fashion! I love to keep the book on my coffee table so that I can look through it every once in a while for fashion ideas. My house guests also thoroughly enjoy looking through this book!

I always like to see what's up and coming in the fashion industry. With Emerging Fashion Designers 3, you get to see some of the emerging fashion design from newly graduated students. I love how they were pulled from around the country and showcased in this book. I found myself getting pretty excited about some of these. My absolute favorite was from Cari Ann Brezina. I loved how it she took her inspiration for her kids line from Maurice Sendak;  he is one of my favorite children's authors who I read to my class every year. I also loved Maru Jung. Her orange and brown combinations were some of the most imaginative I've seen in a long time. I can't wait to see where I can purchase some of these awesome clothes.
