One World Trade Center to Top Out Today as Tallest Building

WHAT: Construction crews at the World Trade Center site will raise the final two sections of the 408-foot spire to the top of One World Trade Center today, making this new iconic New York City building the tallest in the Western Hemisphere. EarthCam has been documenting each construction milestone and has shared the live views online for people around the world to enjoy.

WHY: When the final sections of the spire are secured into place, One WTC will reach a staggering height of 1,776 feet. The spire will serve a television broadcast facility located in One WTC.
