The incomparable Mover and Shaker Kym Hampton, WNBA Legend
Not everyone is THIS MUCH FUN
Once upon a time, there was a little girl that lived on the Upper East side. She liked it quite a lot and almost never left, because it is more like Connecticut than any other part of town: it's cleaner, it's got the best shopping and the Upper East side has great taste, period.  Why would anyone leave if they were there? One day, the little girl, who also was a trained sportswriter (Cathy Inglese are you reading?), met a big athletic girl who was even bigger fun. The big girl said to the little girl, "Come on Peachy, time to leave the Upper East side because the New York Liberty are playing Connecticut." Peachy said OK and made a bet with her dad, and she took the New York team.
Not only did Kym get Peachy to cross Fifth Avenue to the West side, but she was so convincing in her supreme Ambassadorship she got Peachy Deegan to go all the way to Newark, New Jersey, which was a first outside of going to the airport.  Madison Square Garden is being renovated but we understand it will be ready next summer so the Liberty can return.  First, you get tickets.
There is a PATH train that literally drops you off two blocks away from the arena, we understand.  We know you can get the PATH from the World Trade Center stop downtown.
The line is quicker than a bunny, and Peachy cannot believe how immaculate the Prudential Center is.  We were really surprised at how beautiful an arena it is, and Peachy is embarrassed at how long it has taken her to get there.
Peachy spent most of her childhood at the Hartford Civic Center and never missed the 6:50pm warmups of the Hartford Whalers and has the puck collection from Kevin Dineen to prove it, so it was a natural fit to go early and see warmups.  As you see, Peachy still dresses like she's going to a Whalers game but Kym plans on changing that too.
Peachy did do the New York Liberty colors on her toes, and Oofos makes matching colored flip flops we told you about!
There is a lot of girl power going on here.
Even Kym's daughter, Ariel Jackson, joins in!
Maddie is the mascot, named for Madison Square Garden:
No one is too old to get their picture with her:
The action is nonstop:
It's clear that anything boys can do, girls can do better so if you like the NBA, you will love the WNBA.  Peachy feels that the WNBA players have the same spirit and love for the game that you see at the college level, but of course they are more highly skilled as they are professional.
Of course, we could not have had better company:
They have the same bone structure too.
And, equally loud enthusiastic voices cheering!
Get excited to hear more about Kym in her entertainment career which is exploding.
You know she sang the national anthem at the NCAA women's championship game.  She is modest and does not brag, so will will brag about her.
Be sure to read the New York Liberty story:
You never know who you're going to see at a game...see Chubby Checker below here in the first row with the black shirt and light pants with his hands on his knees.  His daughter is a player for the Connecticut Sun.  His website says he's celebrating the 50th Anniversary of The Twist, which you all of course know.

Looks like Peachy's dad is buying the ice cream next time:
