Heather Graham is one of the most enjoyable authors writing today, and her 2001 novel, Night Of The Blackbird, is yet another winner! This slow-burning thriller is set in Boston during the week of St. Patrick's Day, where Moira Kelly has returned to celebrate the holiday with her family. Much of the action takes place in her family's pub, where the usually convivial conversation has recently turned a shade darker, with political undercurrents. To complicate matters even further, Moira's old flame, Dan O'Hara, has shown up in town, and is staying at the family pub, while the current object of her affections, Michael McLean, has also joined her in town. Both friends and foes are both questioned, alliances are called into doubt and an air of urgency is added when one of the pub's regular patrons dies suddenly in an "accident" at his home. A page-turner from start to finish, this is a highly engaging read that will keep readers engaged right through the very last page! Highly recommended by this panelist.

Boston rules for the Kelly family. And those fans of Irish lore will enjoy this pub-based family tale of intrigue and suspicion. Politics from the strife torn streets of Ireland seep into the seemingly cozy atmosphere of the pub. A vengeful intrigue confuses our heroine and her friends, and leads to death. Kelly's Pub is the home base for this tale of plots and hidden identity, and will ring true as atmosphere to any of us who has had a pint in such an establishment. The backdrop of Irish Boston will make you feel right at homer in Beantown, the next time you visit, and the story is a great read for the train, plane, or bus.Ms. Graham commands her genre, and introduces the Irish element with a canny knack that underlines her research. It's these little bits of information that round out her story lines, and characters.

Heather Graham does it again with her romantic thriller Night of the Blackbird. Graham admits she writes from knowledge as a Irish American herself. Her story set in Boston takes you through so many twists and turns that it sends you spinning trying to predict what will happen next. Moira Kelly is another strong leading character that captures your attention and has major appeal to the reader. You are sensitive to her situations and easily can relate to her emotions. So grab a beach chair and go indulge in the pages. You will find yourself turning page after page that you will be golden brown in no time and fully entertained!
