Open since July 2012, Angelo Bellini has some of the best American Italian takeout we've had and it is truly under the radar. Owned by Alp and his wife, it does a fantastic execution of basics but really kicks them up several notches in the level of both presentation and taste.

We cannot remember the last time we saw a tomato as a rose, but we certainly noticed it!

We agree with Mayor Bloomberg in that everyone should have a better diet. Part of that is eating more vegetables, so to that end we began with the Insalata Bellini. It boasts
Organic Red Lettuce Leaf, Romaine Lettuce and Grated
Mozzarella, Organic Tomatoes, Artichoke, Sliced Olives,
Carrots, Roasted Peppers and Anchovies in House Italian
Dressing. Simply spectacular, fresh and bursting with the flavors of summer.

Next, we befriended the Involtini di Melanzane, above.

Thinly Sliced, Baked, Breaded Eggplant, stuffed with Ricotta and Parmigiano topped with Pomodoro Sauce is a dream appetizer. If you like cheese and eggplant, this is an absolute must.

If you've read Whom You Know before, you've probably heard mentions of how great the Chicken Parm is at lower dining hall at Boston College at least a thousand times. Everything is great at Boston College of course (yes you know who was a tour guide for 4 years!) but especially this. It is just as good if not better at Angelo Bellini.
