Chocolate Sea Salt Shortbread Cookies by Klara's Gourmet Recommended by Whom You Know

Out of all the cookies I have tried from Klara's Gourmet Cookies, the Chocolate Sea Salt Shortbread cookies are by far my favorite! At first bite, it seems like a typical shortbread cookie with chocolate chips. Then the sea salt hits the right spot in your mouth and suddenly it is heavenly! The combination of the sweet chocolate, the buttery shortbread and the savory sea salt makes for cookie perfection! I truly did not want to share these cookies...unfortunately, all of my "Mmm-ing" and "This is so good-ing" brought my son and my husband out to the kitchen where they discovered my secret. I was caught and forced to share. Located in The Berkshires of Western Massachusetts, Klara's Gourmet Cookies was founded in 2006. Klara's Gourmet Cookies produces cookies from recipes that have been in Klara's family for generations. Klara Sotonova emigrated to the United States from the Czech Republic at the age of 19 with a dream of owning her own business. Her dream came true in 2006! Klara's baking traditions were passed down to her from her grandmother and it is with those traditions that she brings us Klara's Gourmet Cookies! My recommendation to you is that if you haven't yet tried Klara's Gourmet Cookies, you must. Happy shopping!

I've always enjoyed shortbread, but have never really gone out of my way to eat it. Well, that's all changed, now that I've tried the Chocolate Sea Salt Shortbread from Klara's Gourmet! Founded in 2006 by Klara Sotonova, Klara's Gourmet is based in Massachusetts, and features recipes based on Klara's great-grandmother's recipes, which she learned while growing up in the Czech Republic. For this recipe, Klara took her great-grandmother's basic shortbread recipe and gave it a modern twist with the addition of chocolate chips and sea salt. The resulting cookie is simply delicious! The sweetness of the shortbread and the chocolate hit you first, with the sea salt kicking in moments later. It's a true treat for the taste buds, and I will definitely be going out of my way to eat plenty of it! Highly recommended for any cookie-lover!

It hasn't been that long that chocolate and salt have been the favorite combination of choice for the culinary elite everywhere. But if you like your chocolate chips, and you love the idea of a bite of a bit of salt with them, this is the cookie to try. Klara reigns supreme in her cookie world. The body of the cookie satisfies, but the size isn't overwhelming. It's just the right cookie to serve when you don't have time to bake your own. Truly. Satisfying, sinful, but with a modicum of control, Klara's cookies won her husband's heart according to the cookie lore on her website, and they're sure to win yours. Be adventurous, and try a few of her spectacular cookie recipes. In this case, one is really never enough.

About Klara's Gourmet Cookies, LLC
While working as a front of the house manager in a local restaurant, Klara became friends with her now partner and Husband Jefferson Diller. Jefferson worked as a chef in the same restaurant. One day Klara came up to Jefferson and presented him with what is considered their signature cookie, The Vanilla Walnut Crescent, and simply stated "I baked these for you". As everyone knows they way to a man's heart is through his stomach. Soon after this Klara and Jefferson were no longer just friends. As a result Klara's Gourmet Cookies opened for business in 2006 in Great Barrrington, MA as a home based baking business intent on selling locally and online. By 2009 sales had grown to the point where their home had been overtaken by their business and they moved to their current, much larger location in Lee, MA. Klara's are currently sold in approximately 200 stores from Maine to North Carolina.

About Klara
Klara Sotonova emigrated from the Czech Republic on her own at the age of 19. She came to the United States with a desire to make her dream of owning her own business a reality. In 2006, when she founded Klara's Gourmet Cookies, her dream came true.

Klara hails from Chrast, a village of approximately 5000 residents, located two hours south east of the historic Czech capital city, Prague. Under the former Czechoslovak communist regime, Klara and her family did not have easy access to mass produced baked goods, unlike here, in the United States. Klara's rich Czech baking traditions were passed down from her grandmother, as it had been done in her family for generations. It is that tradition she now brings to you.
