FASHION ALERT DAYLIGHT: September 2013 Coterie and Moda/Accessories/Fame at the Javits Center...Peachy Deegan sees Her Favorite Brands and Meets Some New Labels that We Hope to Enlighten You About!

Peachy Deegan and Hansjoerg Geiger
Mover and Shaker Connie St. George and Hansjoerg Geiger
Jeff Levy, Peachy and Paul Mayer of Paul Mayer Attitudes
More importantly, their feet!

It's not who you know, it's Whom You Know and we were thrilled to see our friends Connie, Hansjoerg (he has a very cute new granddaughter courtesy of Mover and Shaker Elisabeth!  Elisabeth we miss you!), Paul and Jeff (do you own the awesome Wedge yet?) and we hope to tell you in future posts we met many new friends.  As of about five minutes ago, all of the top brands have been emailed for consideration so do check your email if you are interested in being considered-owners only should respond.  If you did not get an email-Peachy can be reached at peachydeegan@gmail.com.  She did not get to all of both shows.

On Whom You Know we've covered many disciplines, and it always is interesting to us how in Fashion we see so many brands at one trade show that could be good, but then we never see them again.  The point: the best brands endure the test of time.

So what did Peachy wear to the trade show?  You know footwear is so important.  The only way she can get through a trade show is to wear Paul Mayer Attitudes because they are smart and beautiful.  If you've never been to a trade show, be aware it can be quite marathon-like to do it all in a day, which is what we always do.  If you've seen us at trade shows that are not fashion-cuisine, gift shows, CEA, etc you also know that Peachy wears Paul's shoes to those too and we are loyal in our footwear!  She wore a comfortable green Geiger jacket which is special for the Austrian accents - ubercool of course, bringing the classic brand into 2013 with their edge of distinctive Austrian heritage.  Having recently acquired the Stribling hat, she wore that too and Hansjoerg Geiger approved-of course he did!  Hansjoerg Geiger knows all about intelligent women entrepreneurs like Chairman Elizabeth Stribling and Mover and Shaker President Elizabeth Ann Stribling Kivlan, her daughter- because his grandmother founded Geiger 108 years ago at a time when very few women were entrepreneurs.  We continue to be impressed by Christine Bonina of Busjour, who is genuinely interested in doing a great show execution and is positive, upbeat and helpful.  We admire how her company is working hard to attract great brands to their women's show though we still think their men's show is the best of any fashion trade show we have ever been to.  We see an overall convergence of quality offered between Coterie and Moda which used to have more of a differentiation.

Geiger!
Paul Mayer Attitudes!
Stribling!
...and the spy aviators were a lovely tool too.

More about our favorite brands:

Paul Mayer's luxuriously, comfortable designs keep women coming back for multiple -- even dozens -- of pairs. Classic, yet contemporary and always comfortable, his shoes are an addiction that we highly recommend.   A staple of the Paul Mayer collection is the simple ballet-flat, with true ballerina construction for a perfect fit that comes in a variety of colors and materials. A cult favorite is the cozy, a flat with lavender-scent infused soles adding style and fragrance to collector's closets as Paul's designs emerge in sophisticated design incarnations season after season in the most incredible hues, textures and modern innovations in luxury footwear because we know firsthand how incredibly brilliant he is.  Mayer founded the brand in 2004 with partner, Jeff Levy. All shoes in the line are manufactured in Spain’s Valencia region, along the Mediterranean coast by a skilled staff of 12 artisans. They craft each pair of shoes with an old-world attention to detail that includes in-house embroidery, quilting and stitching as well as custom tanned leather. This allows the brand to cater to each retailer’s specific demands in with timely and consistent alacrity, with orders completed in an unheard-of 3 to 5 weeks.   In 2011, Paul Mayer stepped out into Manhattan's Upper East Side with a new attitude, opening his flagship store at 1388 Third Avenue. The store which cleverly resembles a pink and black shoebox offers up to 150 shoe styles, including his popular ballerinas, exclusive designs and more. As an added bonus, shoppers have the chance of running into the designer, himself. Paul's sage shopping advice and style eye has made him the New York shoe lover's best kept secret. When not in New York, Paul can be found traveling to his myriad of stores across the country meeting his loyal clientele or vacationing in his favorite spot, the Royal Hawaiian on Waikiki Beach.
