Before there was a Whom You Know, Peachy Deegan was eating Mimi's pizza.
As we celebrate our 5th Anniversary, as you know we've been reaching out to our most favorite brands and it should speak volumes to you now that we've featured somewhere between 250-300 restaurants on the East Coast and know a lot more about food that we are STILL going to Mimi's pizza and we still love it.  In fact, did you know they were the first food feature EVER on Whom You Know?  Check out our January 31, 2009 post-Whom You Know started January 25, 2009 and it did not take us long to figure out who we wanted to feature first in food:
No one was talking about social media in 2009.  Everyone is talking about social media in 2013, and everyone should be eating Mimi's pizza.  It was started by Mimi over 50 years ago, who is the father of Steve, the current owner.  When Peachy lived in London, the pizza there horrified her because it was nowhere near as good as Mimi's.  In this order Peachy decided upon pepperoni, mushroom, garlic and broccoli and the combination was just smashing.  The crust is incredible as is the sauce and mozzarella.
The sandwiches are also spectacular, and we particularly adore the Chicken Parmesean edition.  Again, the sauce and cheese are to-die-for and the breaded grilled chicken is exactly the way you want Chicken Parm to be.  Their green salad is fresh and crisp and they remember to put the dressing on the side.   If you are looking for top New York pizza in a casual spot, Mimi's is among the very best!  We have tried everything they serve and you'll have a hard time deciding what you want because it's that good!
