FIFTEEN NEW COUNTRIES TO PARTICIPATE AT BOOKEXPO AMERICA Total Number of New Exhibitors 183; Total Number of Countries 23

Officials at BookExpo America (BEA) note that 15 countries that were not participating in the show in 2013 will be present at this year's event. Show organizers also note that in total there will be 183 new or "first time" exhibitors at the convention. The total number of countries participating in BEA this year is 23 and the new countries that were not at the show in 2013 include: Albania, Denmark, Georgia, Germany, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Korea, Kuwait, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Sweden, and United Arab Emirates.

BookExpo America, which will take place in New York City at the Jacob K. Javits Center, May 28 – May 31, 2014, is the largest book industry event in North America, and one of the largest gatherings of English language publishers in the world. The show’s vast array of publishers, book industry services and related retail products provides attendees the chance to uncover unique and special products that make their stores and collections one of a kind. This year, BEA will launch a consumer event calledBookCon on Saturday, May 31 which is expected to attract upwards of 8,000 book-loving fans to the show. 

“It is always pleasing to have new people at our show and so I am especially happy that we have 15 countries visiting us this year who were not at the show in 2013,” notes Steve Rosato, Show Manager for BEA. “In addition to these countries, we have exhibitors from across the United States and we have over 750 authors participating in panels, autographings, and other special appearances throughout the course of our convention. We have top quality media in attendance and so BEA and BookCon will provide exhibitors and authors as well as other industry professionals with a rare opportunity to network as well promote their product."
