What do Bruce Springsteen, Bobby Flay and Peachy Deegan all have in common?  They all sing?  Maybe.   They all are chefs?  No, they all LOVE EATING MIMI'S PIZZA!!!!
For years prior to Whom You Know, Peachy Deegan ate Mimi's Pizza.
It truly is one of our favorites.
Whom You Know began on January 25, 2009, and six days later, Mimi's Pizza was the first food feature ever:
Now Mimi's pizza has website and is digitally inclined, and we've featured a lot more culinary endeavors but we still LOVE Mimi's.
Mimi's pizza was last featured a year and half ago in the winter of 2014:
The original Mimi's opened on the West Side in Hell's Kitchen in 1959, on 50th and 10th on 10th Avenue.  In January of 1965, Mimi came to this 1248 Lexington Avenue location and has been thriving ever since.
Mimi's serves a super fresh Arugula Salad, and salad and pizza go together like peas and carrots to us.  The quality of the salad components are just stellar and we particularly love the green olives.  We don't like the green olives everywhere.  They were careful to put the dressing on the side.
We asked Cristina, an elite figure skater, what her favorite is and she said we had to try the Potato Croquets!
They were absolutely delicious and wonderful.  Boasting a warm comforting inside and a golden brown outside, these appetite-igniters will put your tastebuds in overdrive!  We also loved the corresponding marinara sauce.  Soft and gooey, these will please everyone.
We don't think we've ordered that appetizer before, and we also ventured out to try the best pasta course we have EVER had at Mimi's - and you should know we have loved every pasta course we have ever had at Mimi's.  This was new to us:
Please allow us to introduce you to the absolutely heavenly Tortellini All Crema.  It's worth every minute of exercise you'll do to compensate!
This is total creamy perfection: meat-filled pasta in a cream and tomato sauce flavored just right al dente.  The tortellini are just ideal and you only will stop eating this once your pizza arrives.  Of course, the pizza is always King here.  Or Queen.
This time, we chose the Verde pizza!  The menu states that by definition, Verde is: artichoke hearts, fresh tomato, tomato sauce and mozzarella.  We chose to add mushrooms and garlic to it and this incarnation was phenomenal.
Unfortunately, our website is not scratch and sniff but when you inhale the aroma of this amazing pizza you will experience true bliss, only to be rivaled by the taste of course.  The flavor combination is winning and the crust is not only fresh and crisp but also it's strong enough to hold so many ingredients successfully.  There is nowhere like Mimi's.  It's just the ultimate in comfort food.
 You need to try this.
You need to visit Steve and Lisa and Cristina!

 We LOVE Mimi's Pizza.
Of course, it is Terrific Takeout.
