This post is dedicated to Peachy Deegan's pal from school who is a foot and a half taller than her.  Maybe we'll be cast in the sequel...we would definitely be up for it!
Now here's a movie we know something about: being best buddies with someone that is way taller than you!  Since we saw him in Warner Brothers' Grudge Match, we've been so impressed with Kevin Hart and we hope to meet him one day and look him in the eye, because we can.  We are so so tall too!  He was also fabulous in Get Hard with Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart is actually a comedian that genuinely makes us laugh, putting him in a tiny percentage of comedians.
Not only all this, but we read in his bio last night that Kevin Hart used to sell shoes so he gets big points for that.  Notice we have four columns on shoes...
There was a lot to laugh about in Central Intelligence and Peachy Deegan was not the only one laughing in the audience last night.  The storyline centers on bullying; Kevin plays Calvin, golden boy of high school accomplishment, and Dwayne plays Bob, who has completely transformed as an adult (see what happens when you work out 6 hours a day for 20 years) and was formerly bullied.  The concept of anyone bullying the Rock should bring tears to your eyes.
For everyone that was a Perilhette with Peachy (thank you Jenn Stewart), they'll be impressed with the song choice that both opens and closes the movie: Never Gonna Get It.  And now, it's time for a breakdown!  Why You Should See Central Intelligence, by Peachy.
Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson are consummate professionals and execute their roles perfectly, with superlative chemistry.
Their lines are delivered with excellence and perfect comedic timing.
Just looking at them standing next to each other saying nothing will crack you up, because of the striking visual of contrast that could make you wet your pants.  There is a foot difference in their height.
The music is fantastic and you'll hear some songs like Jump Around also.
Johnson is funnier than ever, and his character has a committed affinity for unicorns, fanny packs and of course, The Golden Jet.  We've never seen anyone sport a powder blue unicorn tshirt so well. Wait until you see him try to squeeze into Calvin's pajamas!
Hats off to the editors: the movie was perfectly cut and it was a good length with a tight story, which means praise to the writers as well.  Sometimes someone we know here, with the attention span of someone who has watched thousands of hockey games can get antsy if the story is not moving at a puck's pace.  This one absolutely did and the sequential choices were just right too.  Uber and Chevrolet nail it on product placement in Central Intelligence.
We were fabulously impressed with Harris, played by Amy Ryan who shows a lovely sadistic side.  We would have liked to have seen more women written into the story and she killed us with her dry humor.  Jason Bateman also was impressive.  The casting overall was strong and there's not a weak link to be found in characters.
Not only does this story have a lot of Hart, but also it has a lot of heart.
Finally, we just loved seeing Melissa McCarthy, whom we are so impressed with and we can't wait to see her in Ghostbusters next!
 Best line:
"Oh my God, I hope he's Catholic."
Central Intelligence is Recommended by Whom You Know!
Laughing with it is what you want to do this weekend.
