Terrific Takeout: Saba's Pizza Kosher Pizza by Gabi and Brittany Weiser Our Coverage Sponsored by Paul Mayer Attitudes

Brittany and Gabi Weiser, Owners of Saba's Pizza

Paul Mayer's luxuriously, comfortable designs keep women coming back for multiple -- even dozens -- of pairs. Classic, yet contemporary and always comfortable, his shoes are an addiction that we highly recommend. A staple of the Paul Mayer collection is the simple ballet-flat, with true ballerina construction for a perfect fit that comes in a variety of colors and materials. A cult favorite is the cozy, a flat with lavender-scent infused soles adding style and fragrance to collector's closets as Paul's designs emerge in sophisticated design incarnations season after season in the most incredible hues, textures and modern innovations in luxury footwear because we know firsthand how incredibly brilliant he is. Mayer founded the brand in 2004 with partner, Jeff Levy. All shoes in the line are manufactured in Spain’s Valencia region, along the Mediterranean coast by a skilled staff of 12 artisans. They craft each pair of shoes with an old-world attention to detail that includes in-house embroidery, quilting and stitching as well as custom tanned leather. This allows the brand to cater to each retailer’s specific demands in with timely and consistent alacrity, with orders completed in an unheard-of 3 to 5 weeks. When not in New York, Paul can be found traveling to his myriad of stores across the country meeting his loyal clientele or vacationing in his favorite spot, the Royal Hawaiian on Waikiki Beach.

Paul Mayer is a Mover and Shaker:

It's not who you know, it's WHOM YOU KNOW and we now know husband and wife team Gabi and Brittany Weiser, who began Saba's Pizza as a business in 2012.  They've named it after Gabi's grandfather: Saba.  What makes this different from every other pizza place we've ever tried is that it is KOSHER.
Here are their standards-see Kosher supervision:
If you've read in the past, you know the only Kosher venue to earn multiple reviews is Le Marais which we absolutely love; here is one of their many reviews:
We do not look for food by religion at all but you know Peachy worships at the altar of pizza, so we decided to give Saba's a try.
They gave us something peachy to sip while we thought about how it must be to not combine meat and cheese at all.  If you order pepperoni here, you should know that it is soy pepperoni.  We stuck with vegetables!  We do that often for pizza, as you know from past reviews.
Gabi is part Italian and brings an Italian aspect to the Kosher world with this establishment.  Gabi and Brittany travel to Rome and Venice to do their research and we visited the 1217 Lexington Avenue location, which opened August 1, 2016.  We tried the vegetable pizza without the olives and including mushrooms, onions, peppers, broccoli, spinach and mozzarella; we added tomato and garlic.  It looks spectacular!  The consistency of the crust and the mozzarella cheese is different from other pizza places we've published on as it is Kosher.  If you eat Kosher, this is where you should get pizza: we have not seen any other Kosher pizza places!
Hiding under that mozzarella is the House Salad; as you see they are generous with the cheese if you add it!  Lettuce, tomato, onion, and cucumber team up for a salad that is a wonderful companion to the pizza; they are happy to put the dressing on the side.  All vegetables we tried at Saba's were of solid quality and we were happy with them.
Under Calzones, the vegetable calzone was warm and oozing with delightful nutrition with the crust seared just right.
Our favorite edible of the visit was the entirely convincing Eggplant Parmesan which is baked eggplant perfectly layered with mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce; the quality of each ingredient combined and the terrific slices of eggplant were spectacular.
Saba's Pizza is Terrific Takeout!
