Ribalta is a lovely little Italian venue near Union Square, and our first visit was in early 2015, when Ribalta earned a spot in Terrific Takeout:
We are impressed with their cuisine.  Owned by Rosario Procino, whom we met at a trade show many years ago, and two partners named Pasquale and Vito, Ribalta has made a solid showing for Peachy's Picks.  The owners were not present during the review, but the people we worked with were entirely pleasant.  Peachy Deegan chose the Meatballs in Neapolitan Rago sauce, and found them to have great flavor and consistency.
For the green salad, Peachy opted for the Mediterranean, which was a bastion of nutrition filled with tomatoes, cucumber, red bell peppers, gaeta olives and mozzarella.  We found it to be ripe, fresh and convincing.  Arranged nicely, this salad was highly successful.
The Grilled Atlantic Salmon is a terrific entree option.  Served with grilled vegetables, namely red and green peppers, mushrooms and zucchini, this slice of salmon is a poisson to dine on.
Our esteemed panelist adds:
Calling all the cheese lovers. For our first course I had the Homemade Burrata. It was served with Rughetta and Shaved Truffle. Yes, I said truffle! Yum. This form of fresh mozzarella literally just melts in your mouth.
For the salad portion, I had the Kale salad. It was served with baby kale, Crispy Parmigiano, croutons, and lemon dressing. The dressing was out of this world: light and refreshing.
For an entree, I had the Chicken Milanese. It wasn't what I expected, but it was delicious.
Personally, Peachy does like Chicken Milanese and at Ribalta it's served with Arugula and Cherry Tomato salad. The crust is ideal and the chicken is pounded expertly to arrive at this impressive conclusion on your plate cooked just like you'd want it to be:
And the icing on the cake, dessert. The Caprese was suggested. This was an almond and chocolate cake served with vanilla gelato. The cake was moist and not too rich. Having the caprese with the added vanilla gelato gave it just the right touch.
Ribalta is a quaint restaurant near union square. Its a great place to grab a bite before heading to the movies.
