It's not who you know, it's Whom You Know and we are pleased to announce we now know Freddy Diaz, founder and owner of Freddie and Peppers which has been a thriving Upper West Side business since 1978!  Not many venues in Manhattan have the original owner at the helm for so long (except for Jimmy Neary, who is the longest running starting March 17, 1967 at Neary's!).

We were delighted to meet him and try his pizza and meatball grinder.  Today, Freddie and Peppers is located at 303 Amsterdam Ave and previous locations have included 68th and Broadway and Columbus, if you have earlier Freddie memories.

Freddie not only loves to spread the joy of pizza but also loves to talk to his guests and is there in person!  We opted for the large vegetarian delight that is always highlighted by fresh mushrooms, tomatoes and spinach.
It was absolutely piping hot when it came out of the oven, and because she loves Garlic, Peachy asked for that to join the vegetable party on this pizza.  This pizza has a satisfying crisp crust and super oozy cheese.  All ingredients were well-chopping adding to the delight of eating this pizza.
Meet the meatball parm grinder!
From every angle, the meatball grinder looks absolutely delicious and we loved it even more than the pizza!
Perfectly toasted with incredibly juicy attractive meatballs and just the right amount of sauce you will find the meatball parmesean grinder.  Every bite is amazingly terrific, particularly on a chilly day in New York.
