Ouzo-infused luxuriating with feta cheese and scallions in a fresh tomato broth, these mussels await you in holiday style
No one does seafood better than Ammos, and we love it there!
The piglet is another warm delight!
Oh the weather outside is frightful, but inside Ammos everything is delightful right down to the welcoming red bow on the door!  You know you are absolutely exhausted from holiday shopping, and you need a break and an infusion of Greek coffee, especially if you are near Grand Central!
 Peachy and Dimitris
It's not who you know, it's Whom You Know and we absolutely know Dimitris Nakos, owner of Ammos.  Stay tuned for an upcoming interview!
Ammos was last featured this past spring:
Earlier this year, you learned they host the best wine dinners in town complete with the vineyard owner that made the wine flying in from Europe:
Ammos earned a spot in Peachy's Picks in 2011:
Historically, Ammos has been one of the best performers of all restaurants in Manhattan on Whom You Know, and we are absolutely thrilled to tell you about the latest and greatest edibles to grace their menu.
We began with a lovely dressed shredded salad boasting a fresh arugula base.  Characterized by julienned carrots, tomatoes and green zucchini, it is also enhanced by circle sections of brussels sprouts, upping the geometric look.  We even reveled in the brilliant simplicity of the salad dressing, composed of evoo, fresh lemon juice and garlic.  It enhanced the vegetables rather than overwhelmed them, like lesser venues can do with their salad dressing.
Your tastebuds have been behaving all year and you know this is exactly what they want for the holidays: Santorini Mussels!  They absolutely radiate not only visually from the plate but also in their innate authentic Greek flavor.  We've eaten mussels for ten years professionally, and we believe these are the first feta ouzo-infused mussels we've ever had and they are phenomenal.  This is our most favorite selection of newcomers to the Ammos menu and it is just in time to celebrate the season!  Scallions join the feta and mussels, and they rest upon just the right amount of fresh tomato broth.   Fresh, delicious and uniquely flavored, Santorini Mussels are sure to win you over.
Risotto is a standard of comfort food in cold weather, and Ammos has created a bastion of warm welcomes that you can eat with its notable risotto that is highlighted by asparagus, mushrooms, diced carrots and peas!  Not only is it an enticing selection of deliciousness but also it encompasses nutritiousness with its garden motivation.  It's another celebration of the healthful Mediterranean diet.
If you like bacon, you'll adore pancetta and you'll find its flavorful abundance in the latest and greatest: halved brussels sprouts perfectly sauteed!  Proportionally attractive in a ratio of vegetable to carnivorous delight that makes sense, this newcomer is sure to be welcome to join whatever you decide to feast upon as an entree!  And, may we suggest Piglet:

You have not lived if you have not had Piglet at Ammos!  Piglet as a meat is a healthful choice, made even more nutritious with its latest co-stars of brussels sprouts, shittake mushrooms and button mushrooms.  It's oven-roasted after a luxurious massage session at Spa Dimitris after it arrives fresh off a plane from Greece three times a week (remember we featured it a year ago in another presentation) and no one does Piglet better!  Celebrated with a sprig of rosemary, the piglet is marinated first in a bespoke mixture designed to enhance its true flavors.

As always, Ammos earns our Highest Recommendation.
Go to Santorini with your tastebuds!
