Dominick Argento was a GRAMMY® and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer recognized for creating musical masterpieces inspired by the literary works of renowned writers such as Charles Dickens, Edgar Allan Poe, and Virginia Woolf. His critically acclaimed compositions have been universally celebrated, and in 2003, Argento was honored with the Best Classical Contemporary Composition GRAMMY for Argento: Casa Guidi at the 46th GRAMMY Awards®. Our community has lost one of its most inventive composers, but his legacy will inspire fellow musicians for years to come.
