It's not who you know, it's WHOM YOU KNOW and we know Wonder Woman!  Covid may have delayed the opening by around a year, but let us assure you it is 110% worth the wait.  In fact, Peachy Deegan watched it two times in a row and that is a rare occasion.  Through the magic of Warner Brothers (thank you Marlena, Sarah and Mary), it will be available to watch at home starting on Christmas!  Amazing.

This is a new modern classic and you want to be first on the bandwagon so sit down with your lasso and rope this one in.  This is no sophomore act.  Of course this is based on DC characters.

Wonder Woman says:
"Sometimes you can't see what you're learning until you come out the other side."
Well if that doesn't say 2020 for you, we don't know what does.  Winners come to win and the impossible is possible here; we never needed to hear that more than now.

Binge-watching tv series this year has been fun, but THERE'S NOTHING LIKE THE REAL THING BABY.
WONDER WOMAN.
WARNER BROTHERS.
HOLLYWOOD.
IN YOUR LIVING ROOM.
OPENING DAY.

We love the 1980s and are thrilled they picked this time period.  Also exciting is the fact that they picked the nation's capital as a setting for a good part of the film as of course Wonder Woman is PATRIOTIC.  This is the best product placement the Smithsonian has seen in practically forever and she and Barbara Ann (Kristin Wiig) meet as they work together there.  Kristin is simply smashing and is the best surprise-they should have put in the Beach Boys's Barbara Ann for her.  As you can see Wonder Woman actually is taking her hand.  Bravo Barbara Ann for your research on microfiche!  Gadot and Wiig have great chemistry and work so well together on par with Wilma/Betty, Lucy/Ethel, Betty/Veronica.
As avid readers know we also cover Washington D.C. and think they might have been having a drink on the roof of the W hotel near the White House but we know they would have had an even better time if they went to MARTIN'S TAVERN.  Obviously.  Billy told us he saw them filming in Georgetown.  It goes without saying that the cinematography is beyond amazing and the score is totally sensational.  The whole story and production was entirely cohesive, which is what we expected given the time invested in making this winner.
Chris Pine is also well-cast of course and we particularly liked his fashion show in the film complete with parachute pants.  Of course he's got a Members Only jacket.  Collars up on your polo shirts and you still do that if you're here!

Our one criticism would be is that they forgot some 80s essentials like the plastic charm bracelets on a chain, the shoulder pads, the jelly bracelets and there should have been a Wonder Woman Cabbage Patch kid in her office.  For anyone that wasn't alive in the 1980s we can imagine they will find the computers hysterical.  And you'll learn how the phone book was once used as a TOOL!  The gyms are also hilarious.
We LOVED the mall scene.  BRING BACK MALLS!  UP WITH RETAIL!
Wonder Woman is universally appealing to everyone; if you don't like this epic creation you are beyond us.
Wonder Woman 1984 brings normal back, when the normal is extraordinary!
So, watch it at least twice.
Life is good.
But it can be better.

Wonder Woman 1984 is Highly Recommended by Whom You Know!
Merry Christmas!

From director Patty Jenkins and starring Gal Gadot in the title role, “Wonder Woman 1984” fast forwards to the 1980s as Wonder Woman’s next big screen adventure finds her riding lightning across the sky, donning wings of gold, and chasing a dream while in pursuit of two new formidable foes: Max Lord and the Cheetah. In “Wonder Woman 1984,” the fate of the world is once more on the line, and only Wonder Woman can save it. This new chapter in the Wonder Woman story finds Diana Prince living quietly among mortals in the vibrant, sleek 1980s—an era of excess driven by the pursuit of having it all. Though she’s come into her full powers, she maintains a low profile, curating ancient artifacts and only performing her superheroic acts incognito. But now, Diana will have to step directly into the spotlight and muster all her wisdom, strength and courage in order to save mankind from a world of its own making. The film also stars Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Kristen Wiig as the Cheetah, Pedro Pascal as Max Lord, Robin Wright as Antiope and Connie Nielsen as Hippolyta. Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Patty Jenkins, Gal Gadot and Stephen Jones produced the film. Rebecca Steel Roven Oakley, Richard Suckle, Marianne Jenkins, Geoff Johns, Walter Hamada, Chantal Nong Vo and Wesley Coller served as the executive producers. Jenkins directed from a screenplay she wrote with Geoff Johns & Dave Callaham, story by Jenkins & Johns, based on characters from DC. Wonder Woman was created by William Moulton Marston. Joining the director behind the scenes are several members of her “Wonder Woman” team, including director of photography Matthew Jensen, Oscar-nominated production designer Aline Bonetto (“Amélie”), and Oscar-winning costume designer Lindy Hemming (“TopsyTurvy”). Oscar-nominated editor Richard Pearson (“United 93”) cut the film. The music is by Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer (“Dunkirk,” “The Lion King).
Warner Bros. Pictures Presents an Atlas Entertainment/Stone Quarry Production, a Patty Jenkins Film, “Wonder Woman 1984.” The film is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures in select theaters and IMAX on December 25, 2020, and will also be available the same day on HBO Max. This film is rated PG-13 for sequences of action and violence.
