#CulturedPeachy @MorganLibrary #NewYorkNotes ANNOUNCING THE 2025–2026 SEASON OF MUSIC AT THE MORGAN
The Morgan Library & Museum announces its 2025-2026 concert season of Music at the Morgan that celebrates the intersection of art, literature, and music with engaging concerts inspired by its collections and exhibitions, including Sing a New Song: The Psalms in Medieval Art and Life, Renoir Drawings, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Treasures from the Mozarteum Foundation of Salzburg.
To celebrate the exhibition Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Treasures from the Mozarteum Foundation of Salzburg, the Morgan presents a series of concerts bringing to life the manuscripts featured in the exhibition: Sonnambula, a historicallyinformed ensemble that brings to light unknown music for various combinations of early instruments, will perform a selection of chamber works on the baroque violin that Mozart himself played in his youth; the Escher Quartet will perform Mozart’s Flute Quartet in D Major with Grammy Award winning flute soloist Brandon Patrick George; and students and professors from Yale School of Music will perform Mozart’s Serenade No. 10 in B-flat Major “Gran Partita.”
The Morgan’s collection of music manuscripts and printed music takes center stage with a variety of performances: Anthony Roth Costanzo will perform Franz Schubert’s Winterreise; Junction Trio’s program will juxtapose iconic works from the Morgan’s vast manuscript collection with cutting-edge contemporary works; and Skylark Vocal Ensemble with narrator Christine Baranski will perform a musical rendition of Charles Dickens’s classic A Christmas Carol, while the original manuscript is on view in the historic library. The season will also showcase a new generation of musicians through a partnership with Young Concert Artists.
