Bagel Bob's began in 1993 by someone named Bob who owned it for six months, and then current owner George Karounos bought it and has been the owner ever since. Along with his daughter Christina Karounos and her husband Peter Messinis, George owns this homage to beautiful bagels in the heart of Manhattan's Greenwich Village and again they are showing us how they are in it to win it. Bagels are made fresh all day ranging from 30 minutes to an hour in all varieties offered and they are outstandingly fresh. Peter graciously greeted us the moment we walked in and we were delighted to work with both him and Valentine Pastor, bagel specialist with both a smile and discerningly superior bagel client relation skills.
Peachy Deegan adores the garlic bagel emblazoned with their signature scallion cream cheese, which offset each other so beautifully in the flavor spectrum. Every element was fresh and inviting, setting the bar high for its colleagues to follow. The dedication to crafting bagels the old-fashion way is evident and appreciated in every bite you'll experience.
Don't hate them because they're beautiful.

When you order a dozen you might be lucky enough to get a baker's dozen, which is a lucky 13 (Taylor Swift are you reading? Don't you want bagels for breakfast the morning you get married in New York?!)
The building block of any great bagel place is the fresh dozen bagels!
We still can't say enough about the RYE bagels here, and are confident you will not find better Rye Bagels anywhere else! The authentic rye flavor is evidenced with the seeds you see and taste perfectly punctuating the bagel itself. And the EGG is savory succulence and though we never claim to be nutritionists, we figure that these must have a lovely element of protein, as goes the egg itself! Peachy orders garlic bread at Italian places, garlic naan at Indian places, and you guessed it, GARLIC bagels at Bagel Bob's! Garlic itself is a very healthful component of your diet and if you don't believe us, just ask Tom Brady who eats garlic every day we are fairly certain we read in his book. And, because this is Manhattan where you can have whatever you want whenever you want it (except a beach maybe), there is the EVERYTHING bagel because in life, don't you want to have it all too?
So, those are the 4 flavors we like best right now, straight.

We like when things makes sense, we like when things match, and if we really like something we like it all the way! Hence, meet our combination of their fantastic egg salad on their soft egg bagel! It is a golden home run on your palate and we especially love how finely the eggs themselves are chopped. If you are new to us, you should know we never edit pictures. You excel like Bagel Bob's or we do not publish. Hot on its heels is the Pumpernickel showcasing the sublime Baked Salmon Salad, pinkies out readers. Quality like this you don't see often at all, and the thought and quality levels shown by Bagel Bob's will have you dreaming about what you will be eating on your next visit when you see what the person next to you is ordering.
Chicken Salad was one of the strongest performers on our inaugural visit, so much so in fact that it got top billing. Remember, Embassy Mayo is a major component in the key to Chicken Salad success at Bagel Bob's and is a differentiating aspect of this amazing flavor. Along with succulent chicken, celery, salt and pepper round out the glorious amalgamation, made even better with lettuce and tomato on a garlic bagel.
Onion bathed in a splendor of Lox Spread yields another formidable verdict of excellence:
Not only does Bagel Bob's do bagels well, but they also excel in the realm of BIALY! Teaming up with tuna and Bermuda Purple Onion expertly sliced thin, the bodacious Bialy shines in its light, airy quality filled with cooked onion to culminate in a culinary triumph.
Finally, for those that favor a sweetness along with substantiality in a savory fashion, opt for the unique Honey Mustard Chicken Salad which is showcased below on a plain bagel.
Finally, as the good weather is finally dawning on New York, remember what your diet is now might be more outfit-evident, and to that end, we believe a delicious, healthful choice is the grilled chicken sandwich on a whole wheat bagel, rejoicing in lettuce and tomato to boot.
There are also wraps and paninis which we showcased in our first review, but since Peachy is so in love with the bagels, she devoted her full attention to them this trip.

Natalie's Juices called out our name even louder this time as we recently saw them at a trade show! They made a fashion statement with their scarf and still their consistent premium quality impressed us. Peachy loves to dress like she eats! The exact variety varies by day, and we chose to showcase these available the day we visited: Orange, Orange Mango and Tangerine, all winners in their own right. This time we also said enchante to Orange Pineapple which is a harbinger of summer in flavor and taste! Like the Bagels themselves, these juices are also super fresh and have expiry dates well into the future ensuring top quality.
Happiness is a chewy bagel of perfection at Bagel Bob's with their signature scallion cream cheese in perfect proportion balanced out with these fresh juices to brighten your day and start it off right!
