Today we are pleased to announce it has joined the ranks of Peachy's Picks.
Its charming neighborhood flair, acute attention to detail, amazing menu and outstanding Italian/American cuisine have earned it this spot.  Owner Nunzio Montana who hails from Sicily has got it right at Panorama Cafe, now located at 1574 Second Avenue between 81, 82.
You can tell Nunzio, though he is quiet, is a proprietor that truly cares about his restaurant.
It began in 1998 and was located north of here on 2nd Avenue previously.  It got its name from the view Nunzio experienced of Second Avenue. This current incarnation was opened December 26, 2011 and has been going strong for two months.

Upbeat, friendly music greeted us but was trumped by the Margherita pizza, totally fresh and delicious and pictured above.  This is a prime example of doing something straightforward well.
Peachy Deegan began with the Tropical Salad: baby greens, avocado, hearts of palm and tomato with House Balsamic Vinaigrette.  Lightly dressed, this was a perfect refreshing start to wake up your February.  Creatively arranged, this salad tells you at Panorama Cafe they are also aesthetically pleasing!
The oven-roasted garlic shrimp was simply delicious and a warm enticement to continue your Panorama experience.  Delicate shrimp dance in a delightful sauce that you will want to savor every last bite of with the accompanying toast.  A must for garlic lovers!
For her entree, Peachy tried the Black Linguini with Fresh Lobster and Shrimp in a Fra Diavolo.  The linguini was properly al dente and the seafood was superbly fresh and cooked just right.  Paired with a robust merlot, the entree was in generous proportion with plenty of seafood that you will find pleasure in every bite of!
The grand finale?
A refreshing limoncello sorbet!
Absolutely perfect.

Our esteemed panelist adds:
If you find yourself on the upper east side of Manhattan and are in the market for some good old Italian cuisine, make sure you go to Panorama Cafe! The restaurant has a nice quiet, peaceful atmosphere so you can truly relax and enjoy your meal. I started out with a glass of Merlot which came recommended by the owner, with good reason! It paired really well with everything. Since we had heard that Panorama Cafe had great pizza, we decided to start out by sharing one of their small margarita pizzas so that we could get a taste of it. The slices were nice and crispy and were topped with fresh mozzarella and basil. Its a good thing we shared the pizza, otherwise I probably would have eaten the entire thing-it was so good!

For my appetizer I had the Eggplant Rollatini, which was a great starter! The ricotta cheese was so nice and fresh, I could have eaten a full meal of this dish! For my salad I had the Caprese, which is fresh mozzarella, tomato and basil. I drizzled some olive oil and balsamic vinegar on top and thoroughly enjoyed every bite!

It was a perfect pick to have before my entree, which was the charbroiled skirt steak with sun dried tomato chimichurri salsa, roasted vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes. I'm a huge fan of good skirt steaks and this one was no exception!

Aside from being incredibly juicy, the chimichurri salsa on top of it was an excellent complimenting flavor. The garlic mashed potatoes were absolute perfection! A nice creamy, rich flavor to again, compliment the skirt steak. And because no good meal is complete without dessert, I ordered the banana and nutella crepes. The banana and nutella really hit the spot and I was pleasantly surprised to see raspberry sauce drizzled onto the crepes. Though I was incredibly full of great food at this point, these crepes were worth making the extra room for. Panorama Cafe has such an extensive menu that I look forward to trying in the near future! I can't wait to go back and try even more of their delicious food!
