It's not who you know, It's WHOM YOU KNOW we keep telling you, and we know George Tzanidakis, owner of the Upper East side Bareburger, and he knows Euripides Pelekanos and Euripides Pelekanos is the founder of Bareburger. By the way, now we also know the Bear:
There are lots of bears there and we think maybe they should make one now with the Whom You Know logo peach & diamond check mark!  There are many Bareburger locations in New York City, and we would venture to say if they keep it up in a year from now they'll have twice as many if every location is as good as our favorite Bareburger location, 1370 First Avenue at 73rd on the fabulous Upper East side.  We have never seen a burger place so busy.  Not only is the food outstanding, but the decor is well-done from the tables from Massachusetts storm-damaged trees to the tin ceiling evoking a barn to the garage doors in the front that will be perfect for opening on a nice day like today.  Just like Yogi is not your average bear, this is not your average burger place.
And since when have we ever commended average?
Bareburger was first featured in Terrific Takeout:
and we could not wait to go back and review it.
It was subsequently featured in Tasty Tidbits:
All burgers are not created equal and these are superior in one big way.
Above George is holding each of our burgers and if Peachy had to Rollerblade 10 miles each day to eat this for dinner she would (and does! this day anyway...!)
First of all, you should know that they are organic and all-natural.
What is the difference you may say?
If you are a bigger brand you would be inclined to go get the USDA organic seal whereas if you are a smaller farm or brand you may not have the means to go through that whole process and then call yourself all-natural. The bottom line is that Bareburger is antibiotic-free, hormone-free and the vegetables used are pesticide-free. If you are a health nut or just overly inquisitive like someone we know, you should read the above printout when you are there.

One aspect of Bareburger that we really adore is that everything is bespoke.
Of course you all know that that means custom-made.
There are 14 fantastic choices of burger designs that you can pick
*Your Roll
*Your Meat
*Your number (1 to 14)
*How you want it cooked (Peachy likes medium)
and the fun does not stop there.
There are salads and sides and desserts oh my!
The lions and tigers are going to want to get their own burger joint too...

So Peachy Deegan ordered The Ruby: havarti, pastrami, blackened maple bacon, fried bread and butter pickles, apple smoked onions and horseradish mayo. She ordered the brioche bun and the organic beef. Simply juicy and fantastic!  The combination of flavors is a clearcut winner and she savored every bite.  The quality of this burger outdoes some other spots we've tried with a more formal atmosphere...

As you know from the Takeout review, Peachy loved the Panko Covered Chicken Strips and in trying them, learned what Panko is. Sometimes we like to order items a second time to make sure they are just as good as the first for consistency and you can be assured they certainly were!

Served with peppercorn steak sauce, ranch, spicy chipotle mayo and country dijon, they are tops.  A green salad is always a welcome addition to a meal, and this time Peachy tried the Mexican salad and of course added the aformentioned Panko chicken to make it even better.  This salad in particular boasts romaine lettuce, hass avocado, roasted red peppers, pepperjack, tortilla chips, red onions, grape tomatoes and normally is served with a cilantro lime dressing but Peachy prefers ranch.

And if you know Peachy, you know she likes apple pie a la mode and this was even better since there was no crust! Officially this is called the apple crumble but she wanted them to hold the crumble and they did.  Served hot, it was the perfect ended to an All-American home run of a meal.  And of course the ice cream was superb.  Peachy was tempted to have a milkshake however she does like a nice glass of red with a burger.  You all absolutely should know they do not fool around with their house wine at Bareburger-it is from the South of France (Naked Earth to be exact) and you'll sip it with pinkies out!

Our esteemed panelist adds:
Bareburger is a restaurant that I've heard of before, but have never experienced myself. I am so happy that I had the opportunity to experience the latest Bareburger restaurant located on the corner of 1st and 73rd! Though they have only been open since February, they have so many innovative designs within their space already. They even have additional design plans for additional unique, creative decor that will be added to the restaurant in the near future!

Even though the restaurant recently opened, the neighborhood is already well aware of their greatness because there wasn't an empty table in sight, even on a weeknight! I started the night with an organic milkshake which was a mixture of peanut butter and banana. Peanut butter and banana is one of my favorite combinations of all time so I had high expectations. My expectations were exceeded and I enjoyed it so much that I couldn't wait to drink it with my burger. It tasted so natural and delicious! I was so excited about all of the different burger options and combinations, all of which are either organic or all natural! I chose the Bareburger Supreme, which I chose to combine with the organic beef burger. Toppings included Colby jack, gourmet battered onion rings, blackened maple bacon, lettuce, chopped French fries and Bareburger special sauce. I chose the brioche bun, which is one of the many bun options available. This burger was absolutely mouth watering! I enjoyed every bite of it and wished that every burger I consumed in my life would always taste that great. It's no wonder that Bareburger is the name of this restaurant!

I also had the opportunity to try the Cobb Salad with panko chicken and their very own sweet potato croq's which are Parmesan cheese and sweet potatoes served with apple chutney and spicy chipotle mayo. The salad was so fresh! The panko chicken added a nice, flavorful crunch to the salad which made it highly enjoyable to eat!

The side dish of sweet potato croq's were very unique and had a great combination of sweet and salty elements to it. Even though I was full to the brim at this point from all of wonderful food I had just eaten, I certainly couldn't pass up dessert! I chose the double chunk brownie with had a drizzle of chocolate sauce on top.

The brownie was so warm and moist! It was so rich with chocolate flavor and a fantastic ending to a fantastic meal! I'm so glad that such a hip, new restaurant is now on the upper east side! I can't wait to go back soon and try more of their signature menu items!

Peachy Picks Bareburger!
