Small Screen Scenes: Whom You Know Highly Recommends BBC Earth's Frozen Planet Shown on the Discovery Channel in the USA

I have always enjoyed watching nature shows on the Discovery Channel; it doesn't take much to draw me in and before you know it, an hour has passed. Nothing could have prepared me for how much I would love BBC Earth's "Frozen Planet." I actually had to make myself stop watching it at night in order to go to bed! This seven part series features the Arctic and Antarctic. The scenery is stunning and the action is fascinating. This DVD series includes over 90 minutes not shown on television and over four hours of bonus materials! To witness polar bears, penguins and killer whales (among many others) in their own environments is absolutely captivating. It is hard to wrap your mind around the fact that everything captured on film is taking place right now...as I type this, as you grocery shop, as we sleep. "Frozen Planet" by BBC Earth is educational, inspiring and jaw-droppingly fabulous. Please check it out Sunday nights at 8pm on the Discovery Channel or purchase this DVD set and you can watch it anytime you please!

Usually when you learn about a new movie that is talking about the environment and the animal kingdom, you immediately think it will have a political agenda. But not the Frozen Planet. This is a beautifully produced video that is meant to inspire you about a place you may not be as aware of: the poles. Spectacular cinematography makes you really love and respect this planet. From penguins diving and flying through the air in sync to wolves hunting down their prey you will be amazed. Not only are you amazed by the beauty but you are entertained. Other storylines are developed helping you to understand the harsh and reality of both artic regions. I allowed my daughter to watch some of the video that was celebrating some of these incredible animals. She was in awe and really enjoyed learning about them as well as just enjoying the pure beauty. Bravo BBC this documentary is something that generations will be watching and never tire of!

When I got home and saw that Frozen Planet had come in the mail, I was so excited. I absolutely enjoy watching shows that know how to showcase our planet. Plus, penguins are one of my favorite animals and seeing them always puts a smile on my face. This DVD got to me just in time, too! I teach 3rd and 4th grade and I have to teach my students how to pick out main ideas from informational text. After getting Frozen Planet, I knew right away what our topic would be. As an end to our research, I showed my students some of Frozen Planet. They loved it! Every Friday now, we are going to watch a little more. I am so happy with this DVD because it made my students more aware of animal life and where they live. It also got them to want to learn, which as a teacher, is always something I want to hear from them.

Frozen Planet DVD is such an adorable video to have. I think its such a wonderful video to have in any video collectors collection. Oh and it's prefect for those animal lovers! These beautiful animals are all over the movie and so cute!!! I love the beauty of nature. This DVD shoes all of the beauty of the arctic animals. We also get to see the beauty of the scenery - so breathtaking! To be honest this DVD also has the viewer feel like they are there with the animals. Beautiful is the best word that captures this video. I honestly could watch this over and over and over again.
