Oh my goodness, Mr. Selfridge, you don't seem quite yourself today!
Without a doubt, the most commendable aspect of the new Entourage movie making its debut tomorrow is the stellar acting of explosive screen sensation Jeremy Piven, more likely known as Mr. Selfridge to our tea-drinking-with-pinkies-out readers.  Though we love everything we've seen by HBO (did you see their new Rock and Roll hall of Fame production-you should), Entourage on HBO has escaped us. The Entourage movie is the only Entourage we've seen.  We have seen all three seasons of Mr. Selfridge however, and what is similar is the strong selling skills of both characters.  However, in Entourage, Piven is en fuego to the extreme.  His personality in business is to be admired and we wish everyone we worked with was as intense as he is!
"Although the show was a big show with a lot of locations, I wanted to take it to another level for the movie, so it's 'Entourage' on steriods, with glamorous yachts, planes and houses, and the stakes for everyone higher than ever," says writer/director/producter Doug Ellin, who created the hit HBO series on which the movie is based.

Entourage opens in Ibiza, Spain, and is a party the whole way through with small punctuations of hilarious challenges along the way.  Product placement is at its best (Sbarro!).

No aspect of Fame is left untouched.
However, Piven, who plays Ari Gold, is quite possibly the only one on the production side with a head for business, and an understanding of an importance of the budget.  And herein lies the crux of the problem...meet the monkeys he trys to tame:

However, on the investing side of the business, we find two most convincing characters, a father and son team played by Billy Bob Thorton as Larsen McCredle and Haley Joel Osmont as Travis McCredle.  They epitomize good old boys from Texas.  Other than Piven, we found them to be the best actors and had flawless delivery on their lines that demanded audience laughter.  Billy Bob Thornton, who has experience as a filmmaker as well as an actor, plays billionaire Industrialist McCredle.  "'Entourage' is a satire," he allows, "but it's so close to reality and so inside Hollywood that, to tell the truth, the line is pretty thin.  I think that's why it's so appealing."
This is the best performance we've seen by Haley Joel Osment since The Sixth Sense, right down to his note-taking and interestingly motivated criticism of the film in production!  Abomination should be a more widely used word!
For the most part, we would have liked to have seen stronger roles for women a la recent statements by Keira Knightley, but you should just take Entourage for the fun that it is and don't analyze it too much!  We really enjoyed Ronda Rousey playing herself and she was our favorite female character.  Thumbs up on the Corvette driving skills Ronda, and we commend the audio team for getting the Corvette vroom spot-on.  And to the other driver: how dare you tailgate Ronda!
God bless Ari's wife!
We can't remember the last time a movie had so many cameos!  Of course, it should surprise no one that Liam Neeson's was our favorite, complete with a Bentley convertible and a gesture we would normally reserve for those that are against horses and carriages in Central Park.
We were also happy to see football players and Warren Buffett.
The cars in this movie are commendable, and we love the hanging fuzzy dice too.  And the vanity plates-one was something like ARISFERRARI although abbreviated for the DMV of course.
Rex Lee is also a key component to the total hilarity:
Entourage is Recommended by Whom You Know!
See it in America, starting tomorrow!

Entourage,” the much-anticipated big-screen version of the award-winning hit HBO series, reunites the hit show’s original cast, led by Kevin Connolly, Adrian Grenier, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara and Jeremy Piven.

Movie star Vincent Chase (Grenier), together with his boys, Eric (Connolly), Turtle (Ferrara) and Johnny (Dillon), are back…and back in business with super agent-turned-studio head Ari Gold (Piven). Some of their ambitions have changed, but the bond between them remains strong as they navigate the capricious and often cutthroat world of Hollywood.

Also starring are Billy Bob Thornton and Haley Joel Osment as father and son Larsen and Travis McCredle. Returning cast from the series also includes Perrey Reeves as Ari Gold’s wife, “Mrs. Ari”; Emmanuelle Chriqui as Sloan, Eric’s on-again/off-again love interest; Debi Mazar as Vince’s publicist, Shauna; Rex Lee as the ever-faithful Lloyd; and Constance Zimmer as Ari’s colleague Dana Gordon. Emily Ratajkowski and champion UFC fighter Ronda Rousey appear as themselves in the film.

“Entourage” creator Doug Ellin directed the feature film from his own screenplay, story by Ellin & Rob Weiss, based on characters created by Ellin. Mark Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson and Ellin produced the film, with Wayne Carmona serving as executive producer.

The behind-the-scenes creative team reunites several key members who worked on the original series, including director of photography Steven Fierberg, editor Jeff Groth, production designer Chase Harlan, and costume designer Olivia Miles.

Warner Bros. Pictures presents, in association with Home Box Office, in association with RatPac-Dune Entertainment, a Closest to the Hole Production, a Leverage Entertainment Production, a Doug Ellin Film, “Entourage.” The film is set to open in theaters on June 3, 2015, and will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

“Entourage” has been rated R by the MPAA for pervasive language, strong sexual content, nudity and some drug use.
