From the opening popover with baked-in cheese which you don't even need butter for, Hunt and Fish Club announces to your tastebuds that they have arrived and you should know about them!  Widely known as an industry venue for those in the world of high finance, Hunt and Fish Club is owned by Nelson Braff, Eytan Sugarman, Anthony Scaramucci and others.  They also own Southern Hospitality.  Open since January 5, 2015, Hunt and Fish Club boasts a name that is truly reflective of the freshness of their culinary endeavors which we were pleased to meet.  This is their inaugural feature and the first time we've set foot inside, and the concept is high end steak and seafood.
"We are bringing back tradition and a classic elegance to fine dining.  Hunt and Fish Club is an upscale venue where people prefer to dress for dinner with an old school elegance," owner Nelson Braff tells us.  In addition to being great at cuisine, Hunt and Fish Club earns bonus points for being conversant in hockey.  You should know Nelson's favorite player is Mike Bossy.  (You know who Peachy's favorite is.)
For our green salad, we opted for their HFC Signature New York Chopped Salad.  It's a nutritious portfolio of chickpeas, tomato, soppressata, provolone, cucumber, pepper and onion that will appeal to both the buy and the sell side, as well as those beyond finance.  They thoughtfully placed the dressing on the side for our picky eater here.  It's exactly what a chopped salad should be:
One of the best items we tried and would love to order again is the Owner's Recipe Seafood Salad.   We could not recommend this highly enough; the fresh Lobster, King Crab, Jumbo Shrimp, Scallops and Calamari explode with supreme fresh flavor on your palate.  This was the first item we ate once we left the restaurant, and we even ate it for breakfast.
While we found the Seafood Salad to be classic, we found the Tuna Tartare to be innovative.  If you are more on the daring side of tastebud teasing, you should try this appetizer that is teamed up with pineapple, an equally prevalent flavor in this dish.  Two dollops of avocado mousse punctuate this and we loved the crispy potatoes.
You know that we are of the opinion that Yankee Stadium is for soccer, however, if you are into the New York Yankees you should know that at Hunt and Fish Club, you can eat pinstripes.  On your lobster ravioli!  A short but sweet dish that totals three ravioli, the Lobster Ravioli is amazingly fragrant and has authentic, succulent chunks of lobster that you will enjoy.
For our Fish entree, we chose the Swordfish, which we believe should be featured on more menus in general.  The steak of the sea at Hunt and Fish Club is joined by a smashing Fried Green Tomato, which is so good it will make you want to watch the movie again.  This is an innovation that works well and is not only original but also and more importantly, absolutely delicious.  The caper butter sauce is a highlight to be appreciated as well.
For our Hunt entree, we selected the Pat LaFrieda 28-day dry aged Bone-In Ribeye which arrived perfectly medium as requested.  They hit the high notes on all the flavors Peachy personally likes but that not everyone has noticed: look at all of that garlic!  We love love love garlic, and also rosemary.  Their bespoke steak sauce outdoes itself with 24 ingredients but we suggest eating some of this steak standalone so you can appreciate the quality.
It's no secret that vegetables are better when you add cream, and they are better when you add bacon.  Above please meet the perfectly creamed spinach and below please meet the Crispy Brussels Sprouts with Bacon. You should try both and we enjoyed each.
In case you are looking for a recommendation beyond ours, you should know that some of their guests have included Mike Bossy, Phil Esposito, Ron Duguay, Michael Jordan, Fergie, Paula Abdul, Seth Meyers, Carl Icahn and Derek Jeter.

Hunt and Fish Club is Terrific Takeout!
We look forward to their next hit.
