Today, both Alex and David source the most exquisite and desirable wines to add to your collection and not only continue with new vintages of proven favorites, but also endeavor to bring new brands worth knowing about to the forefront.
You know from our raving reviews of Martin's Tavern we love to eat history, and today we drank it.
The wine estate of Chateau du Trignon was acquired in 1895 by Joseph Roux and run by his descendants until 2007, when Pascal Roux, a passionate winemaker, who had kept the quality of the wine at the highest levels, sold the vineyard to another esteemed Rhone Valley winemaker, Jerome Quiot, who also owns and runs Domaine du Vieux Lazaret in Chateauneuf du Pape and Domaine Houchart in Provence. The wine is made from 150 acres of vines in six villages: Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Rasteau, Sablet, Plan de Dieu and Beaumes de Venise.
Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre
Chateau du Trignon Cotes du Rhone has an intense ruby color with a nose and palate that show off strawberries, redcurrants and a hint of garrigue. Smooth and well-balanced on the palate. A soft, fruity wine.

Vine Age: 30 years

Soils: Stone, clay and limestone

Many of the vines come from the Plan de Dieu; combined with the old vine age this is truly a superior Cotes du Rhone

The wine pairs perfectly with BBQ, Pizza, Burgers or on its own.

Nearly moderately dense dark purple red. The nose is very youthful, indeed still primary in its expression of black cherry and blackberry fruit, with a warm lift. The palate is very attractive and well-integrated, clean and fresh. Medium plus in weight, the wine is still young and will benefit from short aging in bottle. The finish shows vibrant acidity along with soft tannins. This is an excellent regional expressing the black fruit personality of the 2013 Southern Rh̫ne reds, and it will offer more by early 2016. David Milligan Selections
My father is a Francophile.
He has loved French wines since he started drinking them some 40 years ago.
In 1995 he left the corporate wine world with one goal. To bring the wines that he loved to you, the consumer. He selected estates from across France, that produced high quality wines at an affordable price. ( Maybe his Scottish ancestry! )
When I joined the company in 2006 the wine market had evolved. While I am also a Francophile, there is a great deal more diversity in the market now and I have found a love for many regions of the world.
Our producers practice sustainable agriculture in the vineyard and the highest standard of winemaking in the winery, in order to perfectly present the individuality of each vineyard site.
It is because of this shared vision and our "Direct from the Producer" system of distribution, that we are able to represent some of the best values in each category.
I hope that we can help you discover more about what could be your new favorite wine.

David Milligan founded David Milligan Selections in 1995 with the objective of finding great wines from top estates and creating exceptional values for the consumer.

This has been achieved by creating a low overhead operation selling directly on behalf of the estates to importing wholesalers around the country and thus eliminating the National Importer mark up. Drawing on his many years of experience in the United States and in Europe where he was wine buyer for one of the largest wine companies, he has assembled a range of important estates in the main regions of France. In selecting these wines he agrees with the consumer preference for clean, well made wines with emphasis on the natural fruit. He believes that this allows the true character of the soil in each region to express itself. Experts agree that his selections are classic expressions of each appellation. In 2006 he was joined by his son Alexander who spent two years working at Sherry-Lehmann, the prestigious New York retailer.
